Bachelorette Party

I am hosting a bachelorette party for my friend in Pittsburgh. It has been awhile since I have lived in Pittsburgh. Please rate the following bars and tell me if you would recommend them for women in their late 20s: Zen, Cabana Bar, Olive or Twist and Bossanova. If you have ANY other recommendations I would greatly appreciate them

The Cabana Bar can be fun- watch out for the weather. The crowd can be mixed (cougar hunters

and 20somthings) on a Saturday night.

I love Olive or Twist, although, I've been there when there have been large parties upstairs and it is very loud/crowded. Perhaps they can reserve one of the corner lounges for you?

I've never been to Bossanova, but my parents like it alot (if that gives you any indication! But my parents like to have a really good time!).

ETA: If I were to plan my bachelorette party, these would be my top 3 choices as well! HTH

I'm not local to Pittsburgh anymore, so the only one I can comment on is Bossa Nova. I think it's fun and they have great drinks and a cool atmosphere. I'd say the crowd there is a little older, though, than twenty-something. It's also not really by most of the other bars in the city, so depending on how you're getting around it might not be worth it to stop there if you're spending the rest of the party in the Strip or the South Side or Station Square or something. If you're going in a limo or something, though, it would make a good first stop.

I say definitely no to Zen unless your friends prefer the club style scene. It's very fegas feel with verrry pricey drinks, dark with just red light accents and really loud music. So loud even screaming is hard to understand. I'm a early/mid twenties professional and it is not a place I would take my friends. My bachelorette party was all over station sq and oakland, but in bars you were able to dance and/or communicate in, like saddle ridge/peter's pub, etc.

Hell to the no on Zen.. I went there a few weeks ago with my friend for her boyfriend's birthday and girls were practically wearing gowns and men were in suits and the girls were up top on the CLEAR balcony top lifting their dresses up... I was so over it 10 minutes in. Not to mention all of the liquor we were served was bottom shelf and over priced. Now, this is just not my scene, but if your crowd is into this kind of place that's totally fine. They did have a great DJ and the dancing wasn't too bad.

I've never been to Cabana!

I love love Bossanova and Olive or Twist!

Have you looked into Charlie Murdoch's or Sing Sing? They're piano bars and host bachelorette parties pretty frequently!

I will add that the one time we went to Zen DH had on a suit and I had on a very nice cocktail dress. We were able to get mid shelf liquor, but at a top shelf price.

I forgot to comment on Olive or Twist. Love it. I've only beeh for HH after work though (I used to clerk in third circuit court and a bunch of us clerks would meet there)

Cabana is a lot of fun. Their drinks can be expensive, but the atmosphere is great if it's not raining. They have sand, fire pits, and awesome hammock swings.

I've never been to any of the other places. If you like wine you may want to try D'Vine. It is really close to the Cabana (in the same plaza as Panera). You can actually go to both Cabana and D'Vine they are so close.

If you're looking for a fun place for just the girls to go have a good time, Dolce might be an option as well. Its never super crowded, but they have a good DJ who will play whatever you want and no long lines for drinks. A group of us wetn there for my friends bday and had a blast, but again, its never really that crowded.

I love the firehouse lounge!! There is a table bottle service section you can reserve, the dj is usually decent, and there is an outdoor porch (it's "plasticed" in for code so it gets hot out there) and the drinks are very reasonable. Always a good time. Kaya is nearby for dinner if you're looking for food suggestions. parking is ample, the crowd is mostly professionals/grad students still enjoying their youth.
