Receiving Line

Hi,

My wedding is relatively small- it will be about 85 people- and I was wondering if you're doing a receiving line or just going from table to table to greet guests.  Let me know.

    We are ushering them out of the ceremony.  After the ceremony is over they are able to sit in the pews and we will escort them out pew by pew and have a chance to say hi to everyon without people having to stand in line all night.

    We only had 40 people, didn't want to do a receiving line and didn't really have tables to visit.  We ended up cutting and serving the cake ourselves to make sure we didn't miss anyone. 

    We also hosted a couple of other events throughout the weekend to give us a chance to spend time with everyone.  The three other meals we hosted only cost $500 total, but I was so glad to be able to get in more face time than just a hug and a congratulations.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    We are not allowed to dismiss our guests from the pews at church. So we are going to go around to the tables at the reception and thank everyone personally.

    I hate the idea of receiving lines, so we will be going around to guests during the reception and trying to spend a few minutes with each of them.  Our wedding will have about 100 guests.
