• Ok update!!! I had long talk with my mom today. She apologized for her reacation and stated that she was willing to listen to my thougths....She said if all the BM's wanted boot fine. We met with a caterer today and decided a southern buffet with fried chicken and pulled pork. So hopefully we are on the the same page now. I don't like some of the sides she wants but I'm willing to have them on the buffet, I don't have to eat them :) Roy wearing a tux she is still strugling with but that's the only thing that he wants a say in so I think she'll give. He said he doesn't care about anything else but just no tux....

I think he will...LOL He keeps telling me he's going to wear camo cause it's spring turkey season. But don't worry he's kidding. He says it cause he knows it gets to me.

[QUOTE]I was hoping someone else would have asked this, but what is a cup dance? I'm old enough to have been to my fair share of 1980s weddings, but I have never heard of a cup dance. I've also never seen anyone wearing a crown of flowers, even in those days, unless they were flower girls. Here's my biggest, most cringe-worthy memory of weddings in the 80s: I wore this bridesmaid dress that was very southern belle-esque. It was bright yellow and the bodice was very fitted, with big, poofy chiffon sleeves that gathered just below the elbow and with an off-shoulder neckline. The dress had an enormous skirt of taffeta and chiffon that was so big we had to wear those big, confining, full-skirted bridal slips. The skirt measured 24 feet in circumference. When I arrived at the reception venue, I discovered that my voluminous skirt was in tatters because I had closed my car door on it and dragged it down the highway for several miles.

I ruined an awesome coat that way once. The best part was that, about 3 minutes from my house, when I stopped at a traffic light, the guy in the next car over was like waving his arms at me and pointing at my door and stuff, and I just thought he was a freak and didn't make eye contact and sped away. Turns out, he was trying to warn me I was ruining my coat.
