Weave Question?

Hi Ladies!

Ok, so I have my second hair trial this weekend.  I never wear weave, but am thinking about adding some to my hair for the wedding.  My hair is a bit shorter/thinner on sides than it is in the back...so I was thinking about having my cousin/stylist add some tracks to the sides.

My question is this: does anyone know of a weaving technique where you can add hair to different areas w/out using glued in tracks or sewed in weave?  If so, what is it called so I can tell my cousin that is what I want.

Thanks!

I've seen people clip in pieces before but I've also seen clipped in pieces fall out so I don't know how reliable they are.  I've never used weave before either so I don't have any other suggestions

I have heard about the clip ins also but I was told they come right out as well.

If it is just for the wedding though, I am thinking that these would be alright.

In order to wear a weave, you have to glue or sew it somewhwhere! If you dont want anything glued to your HAIR then you can do a quick weave... which is when you wrap your hair up, put some kind of cap over it, and then glue the tracks to the cap. Or you can get one of those ready made quick weaves. They have little combs on the inside so they stick to your head, but they're not always in the style that you want. There is another thing they do (NOT GOOD FOR BLACK HAIR!!!) where they glue hair to the ends of your natural hair, which is cool cause there are no track to worry about, but it will damage your hair and is very expensive. I wouldnt reccomend the clips, cause like winter stated they can fall out, and if you have thin hair it wont blend at all. I love hair! I dont wear weaves either, except on prom and graduation, but I know a lot about them cause most of the girls in my family are hair stylists.

I bought a few clips and have wonr them to special events, etc. and they have NEVER fallen out. Even when people pull on my hair to see if it is real (i know... they actually do that! grrr)

I have very thin hair and it blends well. Just make sure its the same color/texture as your hair and you should be fine. i do reccommend giving them a few tries before you commit though.

You can do fusion, but its very expensive and if not done properly can damage your hair, but its an alternative to glue and sewn! GL

    Thanks Ladies!

So, if I want it sewed in, is it possible to just get it sewed in in sections or does it have to be an all over job?

If I want to just put it on the sides only, I am pretty much stuck with glue right?

I've never had my hair partially sewn in. So, yes, your only option would be to glue it or the clips. (I've never seen clips, but I suck as a cosmetologist. lol.) Also, someone mentioned the quick weave. That's a great option. I had a quick weave at the end of last year. I kept it for about 2 weeks. So, that's long enough for you to get through your wedding and honeymoon without having to worry about your hair. :)

Yes, the stylist I use here in Fl do partial sewn I have seen it done in ATL too. You can def get partial sewn, they would razor split the tracks and make the braids very small, but its doable. GL
