Thin girl with DDs - needs dress sizing help!

I am a 30DD,  tall and thin.  I am thinking that a size 2 would be best, but the sales girl said we should probably order to my chest and not my waist and hips.  I am afraid that the rest of the dress will be falling off me if I do that.  I really don't want a million fussy alterations.

Just wondering what other thin yet busty girls are doing.
What worked for you?  Was it easier to alter the top or the entire rest of the dress?

  • I'd go with what your sales girl is suggesting. it will always be easier to take something in to get it to fit than to try to get something to fit when there isn't room for fabric to grow. I'm a busty girl myself and i'm more worried about not find a dress that will fit my bust than about anything else
  • I ordered a size up because of my DDs too.  Do it.  It's a lot more difficult to let out the top of a dress than to take the rest in, and it will probably cost more, too.

  • I also had to order my dress a size or two bigger for my chest.  They told me its easier to take the waist in than to mess with the top being too small.
  • Ditto the other girls.  Get the size bigger.  There's a very strong possibility it will cost more to do the letting out than the taking in, and almost all dresses need some form of alterations.
  • Get the size up. Some dresses can barely be let out at all, you don't want to have your chest falling out the top because they dont fit in the dress.

  • I agree with the others.
    I'm a 28G, and my dress is a size 6.
It worked out perfectly, since it's really true that taking a dress in is MUCH easier than trying to make a dress bigger.

  • I also have a similar issue, I am a size 0 with 34 DD cup size, One way that I got around the multiple alteration costs was to get a style that would not have to be taken in or let out all over.  I bought a goddess style dress with a sweet heart neck line.  The dress is breath taking and it to be honest, makes my top look smaller which is what I want in the long run, showing a lot of boob is for my husband, not all of our friends and family!  Just an idea....Hope it helps!

Wow how are you a size 0 with a DD cup size? Aren't breasts made from fat? I'm a size 6 and I've barely got B's! I can't imagine that all of you ladies have naturally huge chests with such small waists..

    I'm officially jealous!
  • Huge boobs suck. I'm a 30J, and I'm really tall. Fortunately, I have an hourglass figure and that balances me out somewhat, but I would like to add another yes to the size-bigger group.
