Rainbow Bridesmaids

Ok I just need  advice and input whatever it may be, please just give an honest thoughts and maybe suggestions. I'm going to have a summer wedding and i have 7 BMs so far. I have always wanted to do rainbow bridesmaids. but i know this could probable get complicated and or choosey. My thought were the girls would be in a black dress with the colored sash and colored shoes. what are your thoughts on this? i mean versus every girl in all one color. im steering towards jewel tones rather than pastels. i have heard people say they like the idea or to try to keep it toned down. any ideas, thoughts, photos, whatever anyone has to say. im open to hearing what others truly think of this idea or what they have seen before. rainbow would not be the overall color ar the wedding. i was going to choose silver and black for anything else.

    This question's been asked several times in the past week. If you scroll through the boards and find the posts, there were a lot of good suggestions.

    I think that the black dresses with colored sashes is a good idea. I think I would stay away from colored shoes, though, because: (a) it might look like too much, (b) cute colored shoes are probably a lot easier to find in some colors that others (example, red vs. yellow or green), and (c) I'm personally very uncomfortable with having too much say over BMs' sheos (because shoes can be such a particular thing for women). I would pick either black or silver and let them pick out shoes in that color instead.

    If you want them all in jewel tones, though, I think that would work nicely. You could do white flowers for all of them to keep it low-key. Here's a nice example: http://stinkerpants.com/blog/category/weddings/my-wedding/

    i read the title and thought they'd have a different colored dress but I like the idea of the black with the sashes. Shoes is iffy but talk to your maids see how they feel.

    A friend of mine had her BMs in black dresses and they accented with their favorite color in their sash and jewelery and shoes.  I really liked the colored sash and matching color jewelery but the shoes were a little much.

    I am doing the rainbow/mutli-colored theme as well.  My bridesmaids are wearing black dresses and each will have different colored bouquets.
