Recpetion Menu Necessary?

Ok, so I started on these today, and although I like the idea of menus on the place settings, I can help but feel that it's wistful as guests are just going to toss them around after then enter for dinner...

I'm not sure what to do...thoughts?

**Other: We've opted to do a buffet and will have buffet signs which names each option and gives a description...so would menus be overkill?

I am in the same boat. The menu's look pretty on the table but I feel like it is a waste of money.

I am not doing any type of menu- the dinner is plated, and I figure they'll look at it for 2 seconds and not really care... I feel like we've spent enough money as it is, and that's just one more thing to pay for and make! That being said, I don't think it is a bad idea either... just not totally necessary IMO

We're doing a single menu in a Tolsby frame for the table to share.

We're doing them for each person, but our food is the "star" of the show ... behind us, of course.

It's a four-course meal, and from our fave restaurant, so we wanted to explain each course to the guests. (Plus, I'm a very picky eater, and I like to know what I'm being served at a wedding.)

You don't have to have them. We're doing one framed menu per table, which I feel is a good compromise.

If you're doing buffet signs then I definitely think you can skip the menus all together.

I think menus at a buffet would be kind of wierd tbh. We are just making signs for the food (we have lots of vegans/celiac/lactose/nut/pork sensitivites, so are indicating which items are free of what so people can easily decide)

I was considering doing one per table in a frame but I think I've finally decided not to bother and save the money. we have 20 tables so it would add up. It's a plated meal and the waiter will come around to ask their entree choice so I think we're OK without.

My mom is gung ho about the menus, otherwise I'd probably skip them. Definitely not necessary, so if you want to save the $, go for it. I love the one menu per table idea.
