Not Engaged Yet

Post your dream ring!!!

For those of us who do not yet have a sparkly, I thought it would be fun to post a picture of your dream ring! It could be the one you think you'll have when you get engaged, the one you would pick if money was no object, or whatever!

I'll start!

It's a 1 1/3 total carat weight in 14k white gold. Center stone is 3/4 carat. I love the look of all the diamonds and accent sapphires!

I tried on an 8 carat diamond ring this weekend. FI and I were at the jeweler's shop who sold us my e-ring shopping for bands and they had it in the case. . . I had to try it. Needless to say, it was ridic.

I don't have a picture of a dream ring. There is a jewelry store in Boulder that I love and I would really like BF to pick a ring from that jeweler. I don't want a diamond. I would prefer a sapphire (any color) or emerald but I'm really fine with any gemstone. I love BF and I don't really wear jewelry so any ring he picks out is my dream ring.

I have no idea. And I've learned from this board that I'm not supposed to look. (Plus, I wouldn't know where to begin).

    I've always liked this one!:

I've been in love with this ring from Simon G for over a year now! Unfortuntately, BF went to look at it at a jewelry store and said it didn't look as good in person. He told me he's having something custom designed that will be even better...I can't wait to see what it looks like!

I don't care what BF proposed with, I'd think it was cute and say yes.

But if money were no object...

This is the Cartier Ballerine. I'm a dancer. It speaks to me.

With a slightly smaller stone than the image shows, possibly cushion-cut.

I love  that ring Marley. It's a bute!

The ring I'm hoping BF has hidden in my house right now (no...it's not on my mind...what are you talking about?!?) is this! We found it months ago, but I'm not 100% positive it's the one he went with...

Ooh, I love that ring! It's from Zales, right? I tried it on when my bf and I went to look around. It is gorgeous. I decided I want something with sapphires, though. But this would definitely be my second choice!
  • edited December 2011
This is very similar (if not identical) to one we both liked when we went ring shopping in February. I know BF has gone back to the jeweler, but I have no idea what he went with (if anything yet).

BF and I are no where near engagement, but I'll play :)

This is almost exactly the ring that I'll probably be getting someday. The only difference is that it's not Tiffany. It's my Godmother's heirloom ring. Platinum and suuuper sparkly.

It also has a pretty sizeable diamond.. Which I'd only be excited for because no one has to pay for it :P

ETA that I would be pretty much happy with anything that is fairly simple and symmetrical.

Oh fine I'll play too. I love this ring and it's realistic. I'm not even going to look at all the gorgeous rings I might want if money were no object. I told myself I would NOT look for anything else after I found this one. I love it and not looking kind of helps with the BSC

It's funny how different they look in person.  I would see rings online that I thought I loooved, until I tried them on and realized they weren't my style AT ALL.

I highly recommend shopping in person to get the best idea for what you like.

Ok, I'll bite. I have posted this before, in a post about a dream I had where BF proposed with this ring, so I guess it truly is my dream ring :)

Even if money were not a factor, I would still want white gold, because I like the antique look of the ring and think that the way WG ages would look really good.

My dream ring is saved in a folder on my work computer (yes the folder is labeled "BSC")

But I did a quick search and I found something similar:

I really loooooovvveee the little details.

BF had me try this one on in January when we were looking around. I don't think he was serious at the moment so I didn't get my hopes up, but it WAS the first ring I ever tried on and I fell in love with it. I never thought I'd like a 3 stone style.

EDIT: Here is the one from my work computer... my google search from home was pretty close, lol.

Well, I have a dream ring that I would love, but if we want to get engaged anytime soon, it isn't a financial reality. It's Sanday by designer Maevona.
However, I think my BF bought this ring. It's funny because looking at pictures of it I wouldn't have ever chose it. But I tried it on and Really liked it. I am picky about jewelry. I really do love it, but it's hard to forget about the original dream ring:

yaga, i love the ring you put in the picture. is it oval?

When I was little my grandma gave me her MIL's ring and it was a marquis so when I was little that was what I wanted. But now I'd really love an oval center stone.

A coworker got engaged last month and his fiancee's ring is my (current( dream ring. I have no picture but it was an oval center stone, maybe a carat or so, and 3 ovals on each side that each get smaller. I thought it was soo beautiful.

Engagement is wayyyy far in the future yet (2-3 years at minimum), so I get to just look at other peoples! Or maybe ask BF for jenjenniferf's pick, yum!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a picture that looks similar to the one I picked out when I went ring shopping with BF. I'm not sure he's going to get it but all other rings after it were just blah! I know where it is and I've considered going back to look at it but I'm afraid if I do it wouldn't hold up to what I've got it built up to be in my memory, lol. Plus, I needed to take a step back from the BSCness so I figured going to look at it would just be feeding that fire. So maybe it's for the best that I don't even have a pic, lol.

Marley I do really like the one you put up though!

    Yay, dream ring porn!

    My dream ring is this:

It's the Hearts on Fire insignia six-prong, and since we're dreaming here, I would like it in a carat (maybe 1.5ct...) I love the detail of the prongs, and how simple, elegant, and classic it is.

ETA: realistically if this ended up being an option in the future budget, I would be more than happy with something smaller than a carat. I just really love the styling of it.

Definitely. I ended up loving some rings that I completely ignored in their online stock photos. It's really hard to get a sense for what will look good on your hand until you try the actual rings on.

What I truely want I can never have since my grandmothers ring was stolen a few years ago.My dreams of taking the center stone out to make my mom a pendent so she can have a peice of her mom with her at all time is a memory. I was going to get a larger stone through my friends store to replace the center stone.
I know my bf is leaning towards a 3 stone ring with a cut he has never heard of before so I am clueless on every other detail. ( i am trying to get use to the 3 stone idea)   this ring has everything I could want in a ring sparkle, bevel setting so no worrying about prongs or ripping gloves

my boyfriend actually really likes me to send him rings via email (weird much?) this is the most recent one.  I honestly like vintage rings from the 1920s and 30s but he thinks its weird to own a ring someone else wore, so vintage inspired seems to be the way to go...
