STDs and invite mockups (PIP)

So I finished up my Save the Dates and have them all mailed out and everything! Pretty excited to get that out of the way and I've been getting lots of compliments on them so far. I've got a couple extras leftover so I took some pictures to post up!

Blank cards from Michael's that I put through my printer

Inside of card with the magnet (magnets printed through VP, two designs printed on each large magnet, then cut in half).

Inside with hotel info card (printed through VP, 100 free postcards)

The back of the hotel card with map

I've also been spending some time designing my invites and I'm pretty happy with them! I've still got to run the wording and everything by my mom and FMIL, but here is a digital mock up.
Open invite
Closed, front of invite. I already bought a wax seal kit with a fleur de lis for them. Not sure yet if we'll put some kind of ribbon or something around it too.

  • I am INSANELY jealous of your wax seal. I love wax seals, and I am sorely regretting getting flat invitation cards so I don't get to use any. I'm actually thinking of getting/making some kind of jacket for them just so I can, LOL.

Seriously though, all your stationary is gorgeous. So elegant.

  • pockysquirrel....we're doing flat invites too. But we're doing inner envelopes (just white ones from office depot) and doing wax seals on those. FI was super excited about them!

  • Thanks guys! While cutting the magnets, I learned that buying the cheapest paper cutter at the store wasn't the greatest idea! So now I plan on going back and buying a better one before I start doing the invites haha

Pockysquirrel - when I started thinking about invites, the only thing I knew for sure I wanted was a wax seal. FI and I are both so excited about them.
  • Those are really pretty! You did a great job!

And I was confused and had to blow up the picture of the first one because I was questioning what it said, nope, that really is french! Which I love. Then I remembered you talking about how your in laws spoke french.... which I am insanely jealous of, by the way. I took four years of French in high school with an amazing teacher who then held a trip to France which I went on after I graduated. And now I am doing nothing with it... sad.
  • Haha yeah, FI didn't do a good job counting when I asked how many French cards I needed (my side got English cards), so I've got a bunch of leftovers.

Also, try to practise your French as much as possible even if you have no reason to! I took 3 yrs of French Immersion in school, but then had no use for it and never really practised. I thought I still knew French pretty well, but then when I met someone who was actually French, I came to the sad realisation that I'm awful. Speaking French with other people who are English - makes me think I'm fairly fluent. Speaking French with French people - turns out I know nothing haha. I'm also jealous that you took a trip to France! That would be awesome!
