Complete Music and lighting (DJ)

I just came back from meeting with Damon from complete music and lighting.  My friend used him for her wedding but he will not be available the day of my wedding.  I was wondering what you guys think about this vendor?  and have you guys heard of Darron from the same company? and is he any good? or would you guys recommend someone else?

Don't do it!  I really was not happy with Complete Music & Video.  We used them for DJ services and photography.  I also dealt with Damon, and am still dealing with him now regarding our album, etc.  Here's the thing:  They don't let you know who your DJ/photographer/etc. will be until right before your wedding date.  They don't want you to meet the photographer/DJ in advance either.  After finaaaaly getting the names and contact info of our DJ/photog from Damon (which we only got a few weeks before our Nov. 5th wedding), I had to arrange meetings with them on the side.  Both asked us not to tell Damon because they aren't supposed to meet the clients on the side.  WTF?!

At our first meeting with Damon, he made it seem like we would get everyone's contact info months in advance, we would have a chance to meet them, etc.  This was not the case.  I was so stressed weeks before the wedding not knowing who my photographer and DJ would be and not seeing the photographer's work!  As it turned out, the DJ did a very good job, and the photographer did a decent job (our formal/family shots didn't turn out excellent).

We signed our contract months and months in advance, so I think it was unacceptable that we didn't find out about our photog and DJ until right before the wedding.  Also, I forgot to mention that the first photographer that Damon assigned to us (about a month before the wedding) did NOT return calls or e-mails.  Zero contact.  Damon had to assign a new photographer to us 2 weeks prior to the wedding, and then we had to drive up to West Palm Beach (from downtown Miami) to meet her one evening.  Ugh.  I get irritated just thinking about Complete Music!

I just saw the correspondence and want to respond now.  In the meeting with Lindsay and Eduardo, I explained that we do 300+ weddings per year and that the DJ and photographer will call them the week of the wedding, by Tuesday to go over the details and that was an acceptable answer in the meeting.  The reason we do this is because we do not want your information to get confused with anybody else’s information.  When you called us, we did explain that to you as well as ask if we could answer any specific questions.  Lindsay and Eduardo did have questions and we answered all of them.I was aware of Lindsay and Eduardo meeting with the DJ and photographer, so I don’t know why they said that.  Typically we go over everything through a phone call, but if you are able to meet with them I have NEVER had a problem with that. They are right.  The photographer did not return any phone calls or emails.  That is the reason we scheduled another photographer.  In ALL businesses you have employees that do not follow the rules.  The photographer in this case, did not follow the rules so he was removed from the company.  We found out about this issue and took care of it immediately, just as any good business would do.If Lindsay, Eduardo or anybody else would like to discuss this situation I would be happy to talk to you.  My number is 954-499-8099Damon
