  We didn't use the coin for our tasting prior to the wedding. But we were very happy with all the food! It was amazing! Our guests are still talking about the menu.

  
  

  For dinner we did the Potato Truffle soup as our app....it was fantastic! The salad DH chose the Beet and Goat cheese...which was a hit! Our entrees included the Chateaubriand, Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi, the oven roasted Herb Chicken and we also did a vegan dish as well.

  
  

  As for CH....I LOVED the paella (which I was nervous about because I'm very picky when it comes to paella)!!! But it was delish! The calamari was also another fave, the stuffed mushrooms, and the lobster....MMMMM!!!!

  We used our gold coin for the a la carte dining and had a fabulous meal, it was a really nice date. We did end up having the buffet later on too but if I were only doing one before the wedding I would def have chosen to do the a la carte dining. I think that was more on par with what you will have for the actual wedding dinner at the reception. The buffet was more like the cocktail hour food. 

  
  

  I also thought the a la carte dining was just a nicer experience too and something that was exciting to do with FI, it was a little more private and intimate and we could really take it all in, they also bring out special things to you in between courses that are not on the menu. 

  
  

  We also got inspiration for our reception menu from the a la carte dining. They made the ravioli's that I had at the a la carte dining for us at the reception. My recommendation would be to do the a la carte dining if you could only pick one.

  We are going Saturday night to use it, I cannot wait!!! We are doing the buffet, I think you get a good variety of food and we can check out the desserts for the viennese hour (FI's favorite part haha). Either one you pick if there is something specific you want to try I bet they would accommodate you.  Enjoy!!

  We did the buffet and were very disappointed.  I'd do the a la carte to taste test because at the buffet they don't always have what you are offered for the wedding menu. So you wouldn't really get to sample the things you are trying to decide upon for the wedding.
  
  We also did the paella for cocktail hour and I heard it was amazing. I didn't get any though because I couldn't make it two steps before someone stopped me. But H ate it and said it was one of the best he ever tasted.
  
  For our menu we had the potato truffle soup which was so delicious! Then we had a custom fall salad (mixed greens, cranberries, apples, walnuts, feta and a white balsamic dressing). We had the Chicken with a honey wine sauce, Chateaubriand, and the red snapper ( I think it just has a butter garlic sauce). Everything was delicious and our guests still talk about how good everything was.

  My biggest concern with the menu has to do with the time of year we're getting married.  When I went to a summer wedding at The Manor last year, the cocktail hour was fantastic, but the seated dinner left something to be desired because the couple chose a lot of heavy items that just didn't sit well after guests had been in the heat all day.  A lot of the appetizers The Manor lists are heavy soups, so we were thinking of just doing the melon and prosciutto.  Do you think it's lame compared to all of the other options they offer?
  
  Oh, and thanks for the paella recommendation.  We had already checked it off as a possibility, but now it's a definite.  :-)  And someone else who got married there said they got ceviche added on or as a replacement for something else and it was delicious, so we'll probably wind up doing that as well.
