Had to share my 1000 folded paper cranes!

I finished these guys about three weeks before the wedding! I can't wait until I have a bigger living space to display them. I am very proud of how they turned out.

I read the title and thought the post would be about a whiny bride bitching that a friend 'stole' her idea for cranes. Tongue Out (I pretty much just read drama topics around here to entertain myself when I can't sleep.)

With that said, I had to comment because they are absolutely gorgeous!! I love how vibrant the colors are. That is very impressive!

  • Thank you ladies.

It took me about 3-4 months to complete this project. I only folded when I was in the mood to fold. I never did it as a "chore". I found it quite therapeutic during the minal months of my M.Sc. program. Once I got good at it it took me about  3 minutes per crane.

I folded 100 cranes each in 10 different colours to achieve this rainbow effect. I then enlisted the help of two of my BM (Thank them dearly) to help string 25 strings of 40 cranes each to a coat hanger I made into a loop.

All in all it probably too me abot 75 hours.

  • Beautiful!!

I wanted to make 1000 before my daughter was born for her bedroom but I realized after stringing up 400 of them that I didn't have anywhere left in her room to display them!!  So they sit in a drawer in my credenza.  Sigh.
