We have something similar to a gnome that keeps our BR door propped open. It looks like a little elf, shoveling gold into a bag being held open by an owl. The bag has an "S" on it, so my DH thinks the bag must belong to him.

And I love the Travelocity Gnome!

If the world ends on the 21st I guess we need to celebrate our annivesary early?
And we are definately not headed to the pearly gates. We are heathens.

OH, FFS. I KNEW there was a good reason I didn't want to be 2 hours away from home at a friend's b-party that night!

In case of "rapture" where the good ones are sent to heaven and the naughties stay here, I say good riddance!!

If it's Zombies, FI and I have a problem. See, our biggest fear in the event of Zombie attack is that we'll be separated and unable to find each other. Now, if one of us is home, we're supposed to secure the house and stay put for a week to give the other person time to reach us. However, I may have him give me less time seeing as how I'll be in the heart of Boston and there's little to no chance of me getting out alive since my friends know nothing about surviving these conditions and just roll their eyes when I try to tell them. If this is all supposed to go down at 6:00, I'm hoping that there will be some sort of warning out by 8:00 when we're supposed to leave. I'll only be about 10 miles fro home then and am confident I can get home. Plus, I can grab my Dad on the way.

Damn, I better start stocking up now and let FI know. Ya know...just in case.

We have a Patriots gnome on our porch. He's in the garden in the summer, but we protect him from the elements in the winter. That little bastard is always facing a different way than I left him. I'm not sure I trust him.

I know we're on the subject of gnomes and the Rapture, but not too long ago, I had about a two-hour long conversation (meaning: my dad yammering on, and me watching tv, and doing my hair & makeup) about the Illuminati and conspiracy theories on the Presidents of the United States.

He thinks that every year, the President takes a trip to the Pacific Northwest to go out into some forest and worship a 40-foot tall owl statue. The only President not to make the pilgrimage was JFK, and he thinks that has something to do with his assassination. No women are allowed to go

It's not "food for thought' without documentation. Could you offer a citation of any sort?

Because I was taught:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. FIRST, God (in the Person of Christ) will come down from heaven and He will bring with Him the souls of those "which sleep in Jesus," that is, who have died in Christ (see verse 16 and verse 14). SECOND, those who have died in Christ will rise first (v. 16). Their bodies will be raised from the graves. THIRD, those believers who are alive and remain unto the coming of Christ will be caught up or raptured. Thus those who have died in Christ and those who are alive when Christ returns will together meet the Lord in the air, to be with Him forever (v. 17 and see John 14:3).

Koda, I sort of checked-out after the first fifteen minutes of him getting worked up about it, so maybe I was incorrect in some of that, but that's the impression that I got from him. He mentioned something about population control and how the military is going to put groups of people into these concentration camp-style communities and commit genocide. He told me that if I get the order to kill him and my stepmom, then to please ignore it.

For me, I like reading up on oddball things having to do with stuff like unexplained disappearances and cow mutilation.

I used to think crop circles were just made up by bored farmers, but after reading up on the cow mutilation stuff in conjunction with crop circles, I'm kinda weirded out.

I used to have vivid nightmares about UFOs and alien abduction. My parents probably shouldn't have let me watch so many episodes of Unsolved Mysteries when I was a young'un.

I sure can provide citation!

First off, Matthew 24:37-39 says "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Yes, Noah and his family went up, but they came right back down and the wicked were the ones taken out of the earth.

Matthew 13:24-30 is explained in verses 37-43, which says: "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The eney who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the rapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The SOn of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His ingdom all things that offend and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
