Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Friends friend is a DJ

Ok so one of my BM's husband is really good friends with a DJ and before I started looking for a DJ she told me i should talk to him. So just now we got in contact with each other and for the ceremony til the end of the reception around  10 would be about $1,000. I actually didnt check into any other DJ's is this a good price?

I told her and she told her husband he basically he said ill talk to him and get him lower. But i feel like if he does that and its alrady a good deal I look like an A$$. :( What should i do?

I would look into other DJs prices in the area so you can know if you're getting a good deal or not. Decide from there.

We have a DJ for 4 hours for $500 (a high school teacher of mine who DJs over the summers). He gave us a price break from his usual $600 if that helps at all.

My dj is $500 for 4 hours but we are getting a military discount on that.  Their usual fee is $700 for 4 hours.  I'm in Virginia Beach if that helps

Ditto the pp. I would look around at a couple other area DJ's & compare pricing & what is exactly included.

That doesn't sound too bad to me, but you maybe you should try asking your local board; the ladies there might have a better idea of the "norm" in your area.

Def way to much - I would try and talk him down in price.  I have talked to DJ's around me and that is a high price.  Although maybe that is the norm in your city - still ask for quotes from around town and try to negotiate a better deal from your guy with those quotes.
