I just got engaged X-mas eve and want to introduce myself. My fiance and I have been dating for over 5 years and are high school sweethearts. We have had many obstacles in our relationships including long distance relationship, him getting sick and nearly dying, and just general relationship issues. We have made it through and are looking forward to a life together.

    Congratulations!  I see you're in the LA area.  You should check out the LA board.  There are plenty of ladies over there if you need any recommendations for vendors (and we have GTGs a couple times a year for the girls to get to know each other, it's nice to put a face to the names).

    I am also newly engaged on xmas eve...not getting married until 2011, but from what I can see, you can never start planning too early!

    I am also newly engaged! My boyfriend, or shall I say fiance, proposed on Christmas day. I am just soo excited! We have been together for almost 4 years. We are planning on a 2011 or 2012 wedding because I'm still in college, graduating in 2011. I'd prefer to have a wedding in 2011 (as would both our families) but I'm afraid I would be too overwhelmed with it being my senior and hardest year.

    I'm just over the moon about being engaged! I've always dreamed about this feeling since the day we started dating. I knew immediatly he was the one I wanted to be with forever. Even though I was truly looking forward to his proposal, I'm still shocked at just how happy this one day has made me and just how emotional I was - and still am! I thought it would be just a "Yes, I will" and that's that. But I was just so happy I couldn't even speak!! I had to nod my head yes while happy tears were streaming down my face. I just want to climb the tallest mountain and share my news with the world!!! Ahhh, this is the best feeling ever!!!!

    I am also newly engaged! He popped the question on christmas eve! I couldn't be happier!!!  We are thinking about summer 2011 i would prefer may 2011! Not sure if its early to really start planning.  I would prefer to have a lot of it done early so i can relax right before the wedding!

    I'm recently engaged as well...on 12/10/09. I, along with my friends and family, were pretty sure he was going to pop the question on Christmas or Christmas Eve but he surprised us all and did it a couple weeks early in the middle of the week after I got home. I never ever would have guessed it would have been that night. Our wedding is being planned for April of 2011. That gives us some cushion room with planning but still eanough time to keep focused. Congrats to you and all the other recently engaged out there, don't forget to take it all in.

    Welcome to knottie! I'm still fairly new and I just got "officially" engaged on Christmas Ever as well! (We were planning already though, the ring was just a technicality, haha.)
