March 2012 Weddings

Mother of all wedding nightmares!

And I had one early this morning.  I dreamed I was at the church on our wedding day.  My dress was too short and the top of my dress was a red corset.  We never had a rehearsal so everyone was on the fly.  The bridesmaids didn't know when to go in so they all went in at once.  While they walked in the ushers were coming out.  My dad wasn't there so I walked down the aisle myself.  I noticed I never changed my shoes.  I had on a pair of socks and some black loafers. Of course my dress was too short so you could see it.   No one p ut down the aisle runner so I was walking on some sort of plastic mat.  I got up there and my FI and the grooms men were no where to be seen.  My mom was standing up there and I start bawling and she tells me we can do it over again or on another day. Not to mention there were only a few people there.  I told the minister that this was the worst wedding I had ever been to.  He looks at me and says yup and just walks out.  I then realize the photographer wasn't there because she was just then walking into the building.  Oh and my  mom made the bouquets but no one could find them because she placed them all throughout the church.  I found mine and it was a bunch of wilted tulips.

It was one big hot mess!  I am so glad it was a dream!

Re: Mother of all wedding nightmares!

  • Ha, it wasn't until I read your post that I realized I had a wedding nightmare last night, too. Something about trying on a pretty dress and somehow that turned out to be the dress I wore down the aisle. I kept wanting to change into MY dress, but no one would let me. I finally wore it into the reception, but it just wasn't the same as wearing MY dress on My day. Then I woke up and realized I have a real-life nightmare to deal with.... re-thinking all of my bouquets. Ugh.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I HATE dreaming about the wedding... It happens a couple times a week, and its never good.

Two nights ago, I dreamt that about a dozen people who RSVP'd "no" showed up and there was nothing for them to eat, no where for them to sit, and they were mad at ME about it.

Last week, I had a dream that my mother was insistent that we leave the reception in a canoe (our venue is on a lake)... also last week, I dreamt that FI lost my wedding ring before the ceremony and I was angry with him for the whole honeymoon.

I think my favorite recent wedding dream was that we were on our HM cruise and the guy from Man vs. Food (FI loves this show) was on our ship and FI spent the whole week following him around and then got mad at me because I didn't want to have sex!

  • OMG I totally just read your post and felt like I was you! My heart literally raced! :/ Lol
  • Whoa!!! The outfit alone is a nightmare!!! That is crazy!

  • I keep having them too, but I don't remember much. Tuesday night I woke up very upset about table cloths. I was ready to cry. Then Weds I woke myself up yelling "no, the 6 in the center are reserved!!"

  • I had one the other night too! I dreamt that we went to dinner with the wedding party BEFORE the wedding for some reason, and when we all wanted to leave to get to the venue, they told us the only way to get there was on a golf cart - one at a time!

I had on some big poufy dress (not mine!) and all my girls were wearing white tees with denim skirts. ???

I ended up missing my own wedding because I was the last one they took over. How do you miss your own wedding?

I woke up with my heart racing!!

  • Haha, I'm not going to lie, I was hysterically laughing when I read this. That is one intense dream, it seemes like EVERYTHING went wrong all in one. It's a good thing it was just a dream! :)

I had one last night as well. It was just about time to walk down the aisle, all I needed to do was get into my dress. I realized I had left my dress and shoes at the alterations place. We had 30 minutes until it was time to start. I went running out of the room, bawling, to look for my coordinator. I told her we'd have to switch up the order. We were going to start with cocktail hour, while my mom and I went clear across town to get my dress and shoes. We got there and my seamstress was there, but we realized we had no form of payment and she wouldn't let me take my belongings. It was HORRIBLE. The worse part about the dream and all the others I've had over the last month or two, they seem SO real. I literally remember thinking in the dream, wow, why can't I just wake up and have this all be a dream? It just seems SO real. It was bad.

  • Yes this dream was so vivid.  Normally you only remember bits and pieces of a dream but wow this was very fluid with no missing pieces!  I told my parents and they both started laughing as well.  Hope I sleep better tonight!
