  I was able to pick my dress up from alterations this weekend and could not be more excited!  The seamstress, Karime, did such an amazing job!  She was really a pleasure to work with, and was so creative with my bustle.

  Do you mind telling me how much you paid for your alterations?  I bought my dress from a boutique in Austin and they gave me a list of seamstress to go to.  I chose one and she wanted to charge me $500 to bring in the bust, the hem, and the bustle.  I just thought that was a little steep.  Thanks!

  $500 for top, hem and bustle is very reasonable.  wedding alterations are crazy expensive, especially if you have any beading on the top or hem!

  Yes, I agree that $500 is reasonable for that amount of work.
  
  My dress has 17 bustles, which is much more than a typical dress from my understanding.  I also had to have the hem done.  Fortunately, the bodice fits perfectly, so she didn't have to touch that. 

  
  

  I think it was about $450 for what I had done...and that's much less than I was quoted elsewhere...and the majority of it was the number of bustles she had to do...
