We have an interesting collection of songs that are all very "us".
Prelude - Zanarkand (from Final Fantasy X... LOL) Processional - On Fire (Switchfoot) Bride's Processional - Only Hope (from A Walk to Remember) Song during communion - Love Never Fails (Brandon Heath) Worship song - Take My Life and Let It Be (hymn) Recessional - Real Life Fairytale (Plum) Postlude - All I Ask of You (Phantom of the Opera)
So far, we've decided on "A Page is Turned" by Bebo Norman, "Love Is Not A Fight" by Warren Barfield, "Love Never Fails" by Brandon Heath, and "When I Say I Do" by Matthew West.
For the moms/grandmothers, I'm hoping to use "The Parent's Prayer" but I can't find a performance version that I like...I might have to find some sheet music and see if one of our friends can do it...if anyone knows of any versions that sound great, please let me know.
We had a worship band play while everyone was being seated (so about 1/2 hour before the ceremony began. They played and sang a lot of contemporary worship songs (I don't know which ones since I wasn't there!)
During the ceremony we had Honestly and All of Me by Stryper. DH was a huge Stryper fan back in the day and the words to both songs are great for a wedding.
Prelude: Musician's choice for the most part, but definitely including "Music of the Night" and "Edelweiss" (two of my mom's favorite songs, and really beautiful on the harp and flute)
Seating of the Families: "Ode to Joy" and "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," my favorite and FI's favorite
Bridesmaids processional: "Canon in D," it's a classic
My processional: "Bridal March"
Solo: "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris-- I love this song!!
wedding is December 3 so....prelude is gonna be some really pretty instrumental christmas music. Christmas canon for wedding party procession and traditional bridal march. solo: have you ever been in love-celine dion. recessional: traditional then some more instrumental christmas music
We will probably have very traditional stuff for the grandparents, parents and bridal party as well as here comes the bride for me and my dad. We are planning to play "You Had Me From Hello" by Kenny Chesney at some point during the ceremony. Then the traditional ending song. We will have all the traditional stuff played on the piano by my high school chorus teacher who was my inspiration to become a teacher. I have also been considering buying or burning a country love song cd to have played low as guests are entering.
Prelude: TBD Processional: The Prayer by Yolanda Adams & Donnie McClurkin Bridal Entrance: The One He Kept For Me by Maurette Brown Clark Recessional: Spend My Life by Eric Benet & Tamia
Processional: "Canon in D" My entrance: "The Bridal March" Candle lighting: "Your Love is Extravagent" (Casting Crowns version) Recessional: "The Wedding March"

We had "A Page is Turned" too! We had some friends of my hubby's sing it as a duet. To me, there was no question about having it, as it is one of my all-time faves--and when we listened to our wedding CD it made my hubby tear up a bit.
P.S. I got married three weeks ago yesterday and am LOVING married life so far. I wish this board had been around when I was going through the planning process! Hope everyone's planning is going well and that the time goes quickly till your big day--but don't forget to enjoy engagement, too :)
We still have to look through our brass quintets' books and FI's books from weddings he has played, my bridesmaids will be entering to Canon in D on the handbells and I will be entering to wedding march on handbells (I play handbells among other instruments and he plays trumpet) Our exit will probably be trumpet voluntary I was going to use that for my entrance but he thought it made more sense to enter to the music that represents my background

rccola 1981 Are you having a live trumpeter to play Trumpet Vol? I have heard it that way many times as I used to work at weddings, and it is amazing, you should reconsider entering to that, wait until the trumpet goes into forte and then take your first step down the aisle, it is breath-taking. Although, your handbells will probably equally as beautiful.
I was thinking of Canon, Trumpet Vol, The Prayer by Andrea Bocceli and Celine Dione, and Grow Old Along With Me, but I also love Jesu Joy, and One Hand One Heart, it's going to be hard to decide I guess.
