We are both teachers so we needed it to be a time when we would be off.  We didn't want the summer bc it's so hot and runs the risk of a hurricane.  We couldn't pick a holiday that people celebrate bc we didnt want people to be inconvenienced.  That's how we came up with Columbus Day weekend.
We picked the Sunday bc we figured people could fly down Fri or Sat and home on Mon.  After all of that thought it happened to be October 10th (10/10/10)

It wasn't football season.  Really.   Otherwise, it was random date that wasn't a holiday weekend.

we picked our date from one of our favorite movies, V for Vendetta.

"remember, remember the fifth of November"  We joked about it, that FI would never forget if we chose that day... And then when we started looking at dates and whatnot, we realized that day was actually perfect-- a Friday, so cheaper than a Saturday wedding, and before most of the holiday rush (I work at a certain giant electronics retailer that is all blue and yellow...)

At first it was the Saturday before our spring break (both teachers). District changed spring break on us and we still stayed with our date. Cool this is one of my coworkers is getting married at the same place, except the Friday before our new spring break.

Since we planned on getting married and then having the wedding on our anniversary, we picked a Wednesday so the ceremony would be on a Saturday in two years. The 24th of March happened to be the most convenient. Coincidentally, it also happened to be his parent's anniversary too.

Like cupcakecolleen, we chose November 5th because of the movie V for Vendetta. It was the movie we saw on our first date :)

We knew we wanted to get married in the Fall. I wanted early November, but when we decided where to have it the only dates that were open were Oct 3, Oct 31 adn the weekend before Thanksgiving. I didn't want our anniversary to be on Halloween (or our wedding) and the weekend before THanksgiving I knew we would get alot of regrets. So, Oct 3rd it is!! Our dating anniversary is Oct 7th so pretty close.

Also, my fiance is a HUGE Cowboys fan. We are getting married on a Sunday and I was holding my breath until the scheudle came out months later..... it is a BYE week!!! Fiance said it was fate. lol

We picked ours since I am a teacher and its the Saturday of Spring Break. We had though about Sunday but realized that it was Easter. April is also the latest my sister is in the country until she comes back in December. She is a missionary in Africa and I cannot get married without her here. :)

we haven't technically solidified our date yet. LOL about 90% of our guest list is from out of town/country so we're trying to find a time that works best with them. we have several dates lined up so basically we're polling everyone... but it will be a fall 2011 wedding :)

We chose the date for a few reasons.  First the Fall/October is one of our favorites seasons up her in the northeast.  Second, we wanted to entice people to come to Florida for our "desination" wedding so the Holiday weekend (Columbus Day) seemed to fit and it was the only Saturday available that was not a wedding anniversary of the other 6 people we know that were marreid in October - we wanted our own special date too!

Fi and I both wanted to get married in the Spring, because we love spring time. No significance with the date, we both just knew we wanted to get married in March. Our Birthdays are both in November, so we wanted it to be separate from that :)

All my girlfriends get married in the first couple weeks of October and everyone loves always having a reason to celebrate their anniversary.  October is a great month in Florida and we were deciding between Oct 2 and Oct 9.  I decided the 9th for Columbus Day weekend and it could be easier for everyone to get away to a destination wedding!

We chose our date based on FI school. He is currently in medical school and will graduate May 2011. We decided to get married in April (he's able to take that month off) so we would have time to honeymoon and enjoy being newlyweds before he starts residency in July. Plus we might have to move for his residency, so we wanted to get married before all that happens.  Plus we looked at dates to avoid, friends graduation dates, and basketball schedules and came up with April 9, 2011!  :)

We chose March because it's nice weather at that time in SW Florida. If it's not between like November and April its disgusting outside..and we knew we wanted to be married outside.

We both really wanted October. We wanted the end of October because it is typically cooler for an outside wedding. The 4th weekend was too close to Halloween so we picked the 3rd weekend. Our venue was already booked on Saturday the 23rd so we went with Friday, 10/22/10.

When H asked me what date I told him, I said January 2.  I told him this for 2 reasons.  1) The church we got married in would still be decorated from the holidays (it was Epiphany weekend) and this Catholic church that is normally stunning, was even more beautiful and the decor was free.  2) January would be a cooler month for the type of dress I chose.

So, on Jan. 2, 2010, we were married with decor that we didn't purchase and the weather was sunny and 60.  Perfect!!

    October 1st

We had been a couple for 9 years, when he finally popped the question on Valentine's Day this year, so I knew I wanted a long engagement.  We figured we would get married within the next 3 years (before he turns 50).  A couple of weeks later, a card addressed to just me arrives in the mail (from his 84 yo Mother), she was congratulating us, but stated she was hoping to be 'alive' for the ceremony!  We decided that maybe we should set a date a little sooner...still wanting at least a 18mo engagement.  FI wanted a Saturday, I love Fall (when it starts to get cooler in Florida)
this is the last Sat I can get married in my 30s!!! and our venue was available Cool
