S/O Favor question

Would personalized pens be tacky favors?  Maybe dressed up with lil bows or something?
Ive gotten coasters, fans, and all types of lil doll craps I'd never use..... But a PEN!!! Id ask if they had extras...

But, I feel like it may look cheap or tacky...

Re: S/O Favor question

  • Do you have a picture of what they would look like? And would you put them at each place setting?

My mom went to a wedding where they had pens like this below. When you click the clicker it changes between the couples name and the wedding date. I would appreciate a favor like that.

  • As a guest, I would love a pen. Here is one I considered at first. I think these are $2

  • I wouldn't say its tacky but I would think its kinda of cheap. I really hate to say that because I am not even doing favors. When I was looking for inexpensive favors, everything looked cheesy and cheap to me so i decided to forgo the favors and apply the funds somewhere else.
  • OK, so that is settled!!
    PENS IT IS!!!

Thats what I found but, I am going to go check out the weddingpen website.  That one is from weddingpens.com

<div>I hear you on this...I just know that my crowd would be looking for a favor. So no matter how silly and waste of money I think they are, I am still going to do it:-/ The problem arises that because I think it's silly, I am having the toughest time making a decision, you would think that would be the opposite way around. </div>

@ Misskin - I agree with you that 99% of the favors I saw were cheesy to me, but like Rowenc82 said our guests are use to getting something. I decided not to have the favors on the tables, I'm going to put them in a nice basket near the sign in table. People can decide to take it or leave it.

Here are my VERY inexpensive favors.

  • I like the pen idea and would use it or at least keep it at my desk/car. I like favors I can eat or something I am really going to use.

This is different and I would use these if I was given a favor. Just about every wedding I gone to there has been a favor, so my guest will be in shock I suppose when they see nothing. FI and my son want to do a candy bar but even that gets pricey.
