Happy Thought of the Day

Re: Happy Thought of the Day

  • I can't enjoy my weekend now, because I have to look up every invention I prefer to beer. Also, now I have to get on my computer to read whatever is written at the bottom. What about this is happy, other than the well wishes for my weekend? I haven't been here for more than a day, but I get the general sense that you're annoying. Have a great weekend!

I just detest "happy thoughts" being passive-aggressively shoved into my eyes. I legitimately thought it was going to be a happy quote to brighten my day, but instead it was misinformation about beer and pizza. This needs to be stopped. I'm still disturbed by this.

I, too, am confused by the Happy Thoughts. I go away for 2 weeks and all of a sudden this is a daily thing? And people contribute to it and act like it's the most normal thing in the world? I feel like I missed some sort of major development in TK :-)

  • Beer makes you wobbly.

    Those shoes sure look comfy
  • I enjoy beer. But when I thought about the wheel/pizza thing...I mean, it's a PITA to cut a pizza with anything other than a pizza wheel or one of those huge two handed pizza cutter things. Wheels can be very important in the pizza realm.

I do it too actually. The first time I made pizza with FI and did that, he looked at me like I was nuts.  The only thing I use a pizza cutter for is quesadillas and when I make homemade chips out of tortillas.

WTF? I've never heard of that one. I'd be kind of grossed out by it to be honest unless pizza is the only thing she uses it for and/or she washes it consistently. I would never use scissors on food.

It's pretty normal to use a pair of kitchen shears for food prep, but I definitely think a pizza cutter makes more sense -- I'd be afraid of losing cheese!

  • Yeah, there are kitchen shears that were invented for cutting food.  I just rarely use mine for that purpose.

FI has these, and I used them for the wrong thing a time or 2. Now they're labeled.
  • I guess I can see using scissors for pizza. Just feel like that'd be really messy?

Special, I didn't AW the wedding 'cuz I didn't want to be an AW and I don't feel like I'm a real reg or anything like that :-)

But since you asked, we just got some pics back yesterday: http://silverthumbphoto.com/blog/2012/04/megan-erik-detroit-mi/

  • In my mind, kitchen shears and scissors are two different things. I know they're designed the same way, but I use scissors on non-food items that I would never want touching food.

Thanks Midge! A friend made the veil, but there was some drama when I selected a head piece and thus had two separate things for my stylist to torture my scalp with. Luckily, my dress seamstress work some magic to attach the two. I was so happy with how it turned out!
