Hey ladies, I just wanted your opinions. So Iris by the goo goo dolls is a song I love! My FI really likes it too, do you guys think it is an appropriate song for our first dance?

    I think it is sooo pretty, I'm just not sure... I remember when I first heard it, thinking, is that a happy live song, or a sad song? I don't really want a song that leaves everyone puzzled lol

    I think it would be fine.  Though I would agree with PP that it's a little dark, I don't think it's so dark that it would be inappropriate.  It's dark in the context of the movie it was written for, but it won't be dark in the context of a first dance song.

    I would say go with whatever song you guys like!  If it means something to you two that is all that matters.   Honestly, I don't even think people really even notice much.  This is YOUR wedding, so don't worry too much about if its weird for other people, this day is all about YOU and YOUR FIANCE...  :)  We worry too much about trying to make everyone else happy and this is YOUR day!  Do it however you like!  It is a reflection of who you and your future husband are!  :) Congrats and have fun!  It goes by way way too fast.  :)

    Thank you ladies so much. I'm still on the fence, I have been going with your still the one by shania twain, because I love the lyrics, but I just like the song iris lol...
