I know most of you don't know my background (but a bunch of you do)--but, Rich and I just moved to NC for a job for him. Part of the move required me (willingly) to leave my PhD program (half way through my coursework) and my assistantship at my university. So, here I am without a job, not really knowing what to do.
I had an interview today at Rich's university for a part-time position. They talked it up a bit more before the interview, but I pretty much knew it wasn't the best option for me--however, I don't have any other job prospects at the time. The position would be 28 hours a week--paying about $1k a month (this is identical to what I made as a graduate assistant--except more hours for the same pay). There is no potential for the job to become full time, nor any potential to take on additional responsibilities. The two girls I'd be "interning" for--well, I have more education than them, and would feel slightly odd working for them.
We've not even been here three weeks, so I do have the potential to continue searching for more jobs. That, and, I haven't even been offered this job. But, assuming I do--I'm not sure if I should take it or not. I'd hate to turn it down, and wind up with nothing.
