  One thing that I really miss in Israel is the Christmas lights all over the US.  We always would drive to crazy neighborhoods and marvel at the pretty lights.  I'm also really bummed I won't be hearing "Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer" on the radio

  we put our lights up the weekend after thanksgiving, and just went this past saturday to cut down our tree
  we werent going to put it up right away, but, since it was snowing, we just brought it in the house and put it up....hopefully we'll decorate it tonight...we have all the ornaments out and ready to go, but, we just don't have a tree topper.....

  There are Christians, mostly Arab Christians who live in small towns that I haven't ventured into.  We drove past one village the other night and there were a few lights strung up but nothing compared to the States!
  
  I miss the in-your-face Christmas decorations--you just don't get those in Israel!

  We put up our tree and some lights outside, but we're not done outside....still have to put the icicle lights up and the net lights on some bushes.

  We're in NJ for Christmas so there was no point in putting up decorations in OH. =(

  Where is the special snowflake option?
  I dont celebrate christmas and there isnt much to decorate for hanukkah but I really want a tree.
  I love they way they look and would love to get a small one for our apartment but FI thinks it would be strange.
