  Yolo's Mexican Grill: F
  I went back and forth between holding our welcome dinner at Yolo's or at the Studio B buffet. We ultimately decided on Yolo's because of the central location to where most of our guests were staying and in case they wanted to drink. I communicated with someone in the catering office that is over their private events, called Arkvegas.com   With them, you choose from a pre-set menu and pay a 25% deposit. The pre-set menus were very reasonable, but we decided we did not want to limit our guests to a certain menu for the welcome dinner. We only expected about 20 people for the welcome dinner and I was told that we could just order off the menu if we paid with one check/one form of payment. This was fine because we had planned to pay as a surprise to our guests and the prices off the menu were very affordable. I was told to go thru regular reservations. About a month before the wedding I contacted reservations and was told that we could just make reservations when we checked in since we were not doing the group dining menu. So when we checked in, I made a reservation for 15 people the night before the wedding (not everyone attending the reception would be in there for the welcome dinner) and confirmed with my last name/NH's last name and our room number. Some of our guests arrived to Yolo's early and were told there was no reservation. Yolo's was asked to double check, and the hostess said there was no reservation. I was trying to stay calm because I realize that $hit happens and people make mistakes. I was trying to keep my cool and thought for sure there was some kind of mistake and we'd get it cleared up once we got down there. When NH and I arrived,
  my BIL told us he was told there was no reservation and the kitchen was closed until 8:30pm. (Our reservation was for 7pm) This struck me as odd considering it was a Wednesday night and when we walked up people were being served food. There were not many people there, a few at the bar and a few at tables, maybe about 20 people total. Besides, why would they make a reservation when the kitchen was closed? NH and I approached the hostess and were told that the kitchen was closed and that they couldn't find our reservation. We asked why were people still getting food if the kitchen was closed and she said
  she said that the kitchen was open but not for a large party. She said the kitchen couldn't handle food for 15 people. (But it could handle food if small groups of people equalling 15 came in?
  That didn't make sense to me. Either the kitchen was closed or it wasn't.) No one from Yolo's even apologized, they made it seem like they couldn't be bothered to take our money. Despite all of this, I was still being polite and congenial because we had looked forward to this for months and you don't stand between me and a margarita. Finally we asked to speak with a manager. The manager came out and explained they were concerned about the kitchen getting "backed up" and that was why we were told it was closed. She said she could seat us but it might not be together because they had a large party in the back. So we asked her to get as close together as possible. She told us it would be a few minutes while they moved some tables around so we waited. Unknown to us, while we were speaking with the hostess and the manager, BIL put our name in at PF Chang's, right next to Yolo's. So he tells us this after we get done with the manager. We notice the manager go into the back but nothing was being moved around. We decided whomever called us first we would go with.  Don't get me wrong, we love PF chang's. But we can eat PF Chang's any day of the week at home. We wanted Yolo's. A minute later the buzzer for PF Chang's went off. We told the hostess we decided to go to PF Chang and she said ok and didn't bat an eyelash. I was extremely disappointed and NH was pissed. I just don't get their issue. Once it was determined the reservation was lost, why not just treat us like a walk in? What was the big deal? They had room. It left us with such a sour feeling, I don't know if we'll even go there next time
  we're in Vegas.
  
  PF Chang's China Bistro: A
  So after the fiasco at Yolo's, we went over to PF Chang's where they sat us right away. There's a space upstairs for a large parties and that sat us at a long table and squished in an extra table at the end. The only problem was they sat us next to a really loud group of 6 people and the walk way between our tables was very small. Our waiter's name was Justin and he was great. He was super attentive and friendly, and our food was great and fast. They even make too much of some stuff and gave us the extra for free. The loud table kept shouting and were making more noise than the 15 of us combined. I think it was a going away party or something, but I was glad to get out of there after a while. It was a little more expensive than Yolo's, but it worked out well and we made it under budget.
  
  Margaritaville: A
  My bachelorette party was here and it was fun. After dinner my sister and niece decided not to come out with all of the rest of the girls which made me really sad and slightly angry. But we had fun anyway. My MIL even came, and she paid for the giant margarita tower that we had. It was huge and had enough for 7 of us (one of the groomsmen's girlfriend doesn't drink) to have 2 cups of margarita. I believe they were a little bit watered down, but it was good. One of the girls bought me a separate strawberry margarita in the silly collectable Margaritaville glass. For a Wednesday night, the place  was packed and the band was loud! LOL
  
  Maggiano's: A+
  Cassy and Marc were great to work with! Cassy patiently answered my questions and helped me with suggestions. I even had my linens shipped to Cassy, and she received them with no problems. We originally booked the DiCarlo room, and I freaked out a few weeks before the wedding and decided we needed the Abruzzi room if it was available, and it turns out it was. Cassy was even great because the room minimum for the Abruzzi had gone up from when I originally booked, but they let me have it for the original price. We were over the room minimum for the DiCarlo so NH and I decided if we were going to spend more anyway, we should get a bigger room. In the end it was awesome because they upgraded us to the Calabria room because it wasn't being used! It was great to have the bar and balcony in our room. We chose the classic wedding package - we had 3 appetizers, 2 pastas, 2 entrees, 2 salads,bread, ice cream and wedding cake. There was SO MUCH food!!! The appetizers were buffet style and
  the rest was family style. I was very hungry because I really hadn't eaten much, and everything was soooo delicious!!! I would have loved to eat more, but I was so full and I had to save room for cake. We had an open bar with our package and that worked out great. I don't think people drank like we thought they would, but I guess that kind of thing is not always predictable. Our banquet captain was Cannon and she was excellent. She was friendly and was really good about refilling drinks. She and her assistant (I don't remember her name, but she was awesome as well)  were really on top of things and wonderful. NH dropped off our flutes, cake topper, and favors before the ceremony and everything was set up perfectly!! Unfortunately our IPOD died a few weeks before the wedding and we completely spaced on music.
  We didn't have an IPOD but there was a music system in the room that played show tunes and light music like Frank Sinatra so it wasn't silent. My sister brought her lap top but didn't have speakers so there was no dancing. I think people got kind of bored without really upbeat music. We hadn't planned on having a lot of dancing, but we wanted music. I could have kicked myself about the IPOD. Things ended probably about an hour early
  (we were booked 8:30 - 12:30 but were gone by 11:45). I think people were so stuffed full anyway, maybe no one would have danced LOL. After the reception, we left our linens and toasting flutes and did not get them before we left for Ohio. I was less concerned about the linens, I wanted our flutes (so silly and sentimental) so I called Marc, frantic and stressed out and he said they would ship them to us. Everyone had a good time despite the
  lack of music, and raved about the food and how nice things were. My mom kept saying she was impressed and people were so shocked that we planned everything from Ohio. The staff was really wonderful and we hope to go back for our one year anniversary.
  
  The Palette: A
  Pam was really nice to work with and helped me figure out centerpieces that could fit into our budget. She was always friendly and polite, and easy to contact. Our centerpieces were tall vases with pink rose petals, a floating candle, and iridescent floral rocks at the bottom of the vases. We also requested petals on the table but Pam forgot them. It was not a big deal, they weren't missed by anyone but me. I sent her a follow up email and she was
  really apologetic. The centerpieces were beautiful anyway, and she said Maggiano's kept them on display for a few days later. Pam also made a little bouquet for me to give to my sister and it was very pretty.
  
  Creations Bakery: C
  Let me preface this by saying cake was a very important element to our reception and we had high hopes for it. I didn't have any problems getting in contact with Susie until about a week before the wedding. Otherwise she had always been good about answering email and phone calls. I know they get really busy. We chose a package with a cake for the convenience and Creations is the preferred vendor. A while before the wedding Susie and I had discussed the details of the cake and I sent her an inspiration photo (I fell in love with Sunny Canadian's cake and it was also done by Creations). NH and I decided the bottom tier would be chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and the top tier would be white cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries. We are anti-fondant so the outside would be light pink buttercream with buttercream flowers and piping. There would also be buttercream flowers on the top of the cake. Creations also has edible diamonds, which I thought was cool and asked for those at the base of each tier. Now the basic cake was included in the package price, but we were charged extra because we wanted an upgrade to a square cake, the fresh strawberries, and the edible diamonds were extra also. Before we left Ohio the weekend before the wedding, I left a message for Susie that I just wanted to double check and confirm everything. She finally called me back on Tuesday before the wedding and we went over everything. Unfortunately she forgot about the edible diamonds and thought we wanted diamond bands. Which was not the case. So we went over everything again and she confirmed the design, the flavors, and the diamonds. When we arrived at the reception and saw the cake display, I immediately noticed the missing edible diamonds and there are no buttercream flowers on the top so you can see the prongs from the cake topper. The cake was very small
  but it was only to feed 21 people. The cake itself was very good, it was moist and tasted great. The peanut butter mousse was very light, you almost didn't know it was peanut butter. The white chocolate mousse was good, but it was also very light
  and didn't taste very white chocolatey to me. People enjoyed the cake though, especially with the ice cream. We did take some cake with us, and I had some for the next 2 days. I told Cannon that there were things missing from the cake ad she
  looked at the cake order notes and everything was there and she said she'd let Marc and Cassy know about it, and she was apologetic. Marc advised they will refund the extra money that we paid to upgrade the cake. Overall the cake looked nice, it
  just wasn't exactly what we wanted.

  Bell Trans Limo: A
  We transported our guests from Caesars to Maggiano's and the from Maggiano's to everyone's hotel. We had the 24 passenger party bus. It was $69 each way (one hour minimum each way) and that included gratuity and fuel charge for the driver. The buses
  were fine - they were clean and air conditioned. When we saw the reception was loosing steam, we called to get the bus earlier, and there was no problem at all. The drivers were nice and called to let us know when they were at each pick up location. I would have liked if they helped the ladies onto the bus, but that was no big deal. It was a no frills service, and that was fine for us.
  
  
  Men's Warehouse:

  With the groom and groomsmen all over the place, we knew the service would be a toss up. We had no problems getting NH fitted for his tuxedo in Ohio. Our plan was to have the same tuxedo for all the guys and then the groom would have a white shirt, while the
  groomsmen would have black shirts. We were told this was ok and could be done. His brother, the best man, walked into MW in Denver, CO and was told they could not find the reservation. Mind you, all of the groomsmen were given the reservation number to take to the store. Apparently they "found" it after a few minutes of searching, but then told BIL that he couldn't have a black shirt. He was told all of the shirts had to be white or we had to pay extra. So he had his measurements taken and we decided we'd get the shirt figured out in Vegas. Our poor groomsmen in Boulder was told they found the reservation number, but that the wedding was cancelled and there was no more information. He knew this wasn't true and called us. NH called the store in Vegas and spoke with Nicole and told them what the problem was. She called the Boulder store and got everything straightened out so our groomsmen could get his measurements taken. She was awesome. Lastly, our groomsmen in LA had no trouble getting fitted, but they originally sent his tuxedo to LA instead of Vegas. So he called them and confirmed that the pick up location was Vegas and not LA and they sent it over. When the guys went to MW in Vegas on Wednesday before the wedding, everyone's tuxedo was correct (with the correct corresponding shirts) except for NH. His measurements were all on file, but the tuxedo was all wrong. The pants were too big and the jacket was too short. Luckily, they had a whole different tuxedo in stock that he could use.
  
  Caesars Palace Accommodations: A
  Our package included 2 nights in a Palace Tower deluxe room and a $100 food credit. We got to check in early and the staff was quick, super cordial and used my new last name (woo hoo LOL). (The only downside was it was the day after the wedding and so we didn't get to sleep in as late as we wanted)
  In hindsight, I would have stayed at Caesars the day of and the day after the wedding for convenience sake. Also, the Palace Tower was right by the pools and the Juno Garden and the walk there in my wedding dress wouldn't have been as much of a hike. Caesars was huge!! There's just so much to do and see, it was massive. We loved the location and the room was great. The bed was a king and so so plush! It was firm but soft and boy was it huge. There was a spa tub, but I didn't use it. The shower was great and the toiletries smelled so delightful LOL
  One of the ladies at the front desk sent us up a complimentary crystal wine stopper with the Caesars logo with a note thanking us for using Caesars, and that was really nice. For the food credit we decided since we were so exhausted, we wanted to just veg out, have room service and watch a movie on the cool flatscreen. We watched Death at a Funeral and I had a chicken quesedilla with chips, salsa and guacamole and NH had sweet and sour chicken. The food was not as hot as we would have liked it and my quesedilla was covered in some weird guacamole/sour cream/salsa blend that tasted ok, but made me sick. Our room had a really nice view of the pool complex, and I only wish I had used the pools more. I went down one day and just hung out with some of my friends from the wedding. They were a bit too crowded for my tastes, it was wall to wall people pretty much all day. We really enjoyed Caesars and everyone we encountered was lovely and addressed us by name. The housekeeper almost hugged us when we tipped her. LOL
  
  Caesars Limo: A
  Also as part of our wedding package, we got to ride in a limo to the license place to get our marriage license. My only issue was the agreed upon time was 7pm and the driver called me at 25 after 6pm saying that he was waiting for us and that we were going to have to pay if we went over the allotted hour. I told him our hour didn't start until 7pm and we'd be there soon. When we arrived, the driver was nice and the limo was cool - it was big enough for about 6 people. I was super thirsty, but there was nothing to drink in the limo. We had pre-registered and it took no time at all to get the license. The driver was even surprised. The whole thing took about 40 mins from start to finish. It was nice to feel like a Celeb for a minute. Heh
  
  The Signature at MGM Grand: A+
  On our previous trips to Vegas, we have always stayed at the MGM Grand. This time, I wanted to try their newer property which is all suites. I became a fan on Facebook and also joined their email list. I got a great deal on a junior suite for $99 a night, 2 free cocktails, and a $25 food credit. We stayed here at the end of our stay in Vegas for our "honeymoon" feel. This place was so incredible. When you pull up, it's in a gated community and you drive up to a security booth. You give them your name and they welcome you and tell you what tower you're in. They also give
  you complimentary water. We pulled up to our tower and check in was very smooth. It was a bit lengthy, but we were early and they didn't have a room available in the tower we were in (each tower has its own lobby and they are connected by a hallway). The hotel is also non smoking and gaming and they make you sign a serious release that if you are caught smoking in your room or on the balcony, you have to pay a hefty fee. They do have designated smoking areas near the pool and there's a little patio area. NH smokes, but he said he didn't mind not smoking as much. The air was so clean there without all of the casino smoke. And it's so peaceful and serene because there's no casino. There's a moving walk way that connects it to the MGM Grand and you have full use of their pools and facilities when you stay at The Signature. Although I didn't use them, the pools are heated and there's a pool
  in each tower and you have use of all of them. I wish we had stayed at The Signature all week because the suites have kitchen facilities with dishes, a fridge, a microwave,and a stove. We could have had so many left overs from Maggiano's!! I didn't even mind paying the resort fee, it was nice to have wireless internet and use of the gym if we wanted it. The bed here was also a king and so wonderful! I did use the spa tub and it was really good on my sore back. The Signature had the best water pressure of all of the hotels and their toiletries were very nice. The check out process was also lengthy (they don't offer self check out), but the staff was super courteous and professional and always called us by name. Staying at the Signature made me feel so luxurious! I seriously love the hotel and cannot wait to go back!! It's a lot more laid back than most hotels on the strip, and at the end of the wedding weekend that's what we needed.
  
  
  The Steakhouse at Camelot: A+
  
  For our honeymoon dinner we wanted to go somewhere nice, we found The Steakhouse at Camelot in a Vegas guidebook The Signature gave us when we checked in.  We’d never heard of it and wanted to get out of The MGM Grand for dinner so we decided to give it a try.  I know people on this board don’t think much of the Excalibur, but the food and service at The Steakhouse at Camelot was outstanding.  The lighting was very romantic, the table was cozy, and the waiters were very attentive and friendly. They had a special going for a salad, entrée, and dessert for $30 a person.  The sides were extra, but they were huge. The caesar salad was really good. NH and I both got a 10 ounce mesquite cooked steak and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.  We both like our steaks well done and it’s sometimes a challenge to find a chef that can cook the perfect well done steak.  This place did it!  It was the juiciest and most perfect steak I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to a lot of steakhouses.  Even NH loved it, and he’s very picky about steak.  NH had the garlic mashed potatoes and I had a baked potato.  The baked potato was about the size of my forearm, I kid you not. I couldn’t finish it.  The mashed potatoes were so smooth and savory, the best we’ve have ever had.  We had chocolate mousse for dessert and it was divine.  I think The Steakhouse at Camelot is one of those places that is underestimated because of its location.  It was a great place, and the food was delicious!  Seriously, try this place some time.

  Thanks, I hope you get to try The Steakhouse! The thing with Yolo's is, I'm pretty laid back and so is my husband.  We were only slightly annoyed about the reservation, it could have all been resolved if they didn't act like they couldn't seat us AT ALL.  That was so frustrating!  I'm the type to probably give them another chance in the future, but I doubt my husband would go for it.

  Thanks for the great reviews Ebony!  That really stinks about Yolo's though, I can't believe they would actually turn away 15 people and not even care!  Yeah, that was a really smart business decision on their part...

  Great reviews! Did you have videography at the ceremony? I'm interested to hear how it turned out.
  
  I was at The Steakhouse last week for a family wedding and I agree that it was great! We had a small room in the back. Everyone loved their food and the portions were huge-- I would definitely recommend sharing salads and sides.

  Yes, Caesars had videography as part of our package.  We got our wedding dvd and have watched it. It's actually very good quality!

  Thanks for the reviews and congrats!!. My FI and I have been considering Yolo's for a welcome dinner, but after your feedback - I am pretty wary about choosing them. Poor customer service is just not acceptable.

  Congrats!! Thanks so much for your thorough reviews. I'm now even more stoked about Bell Trans service. Their rates are great and if they get the job done, then that's perfect with me! I spoke with them once to get preliminary info as my wedding's still 7 months away and the guy was super nice and chatty with me.

  Sorry about the hoo-ha with Yolos.  How annoying, and how stupid of them to turn away a group of your size. I think we are going to opt for the group menu and pay the 25% deposit, so hopefully they might take our reservation a bit more seriously. If I were you I would write and complain, really play up that they ruined your pre-wedding night plans and see if they send you some vouchers or something.
  
  Please can I see a photo of your bouquet? I am having pink roses and no greenery as well, and I can't decide between 24 and 36 roses - pics are hard to find on Google, so I would love to see how yours turned out.
  
  Also great to hear James did a good job and put you at ease.
  
  Overall your wedding sounds like it went well apart from a few annoying hiccups - congratulations!  xx

  Thanks for the reviews!  I am using Men's Wearhouse for the tux's too because of different locations and they are a chain.  What MW in Vegas did you use?  I know they have a few locations.  Also did you go the day beforehand to pick up the tux?  I know you said Wednesday but I didn't know what day you got married.  Thanks for all the detailed reviews!  I am having my reception there at Maggiano's too!  I am glad you reviewed bell tran because I haven't heard too much of them.  Can't wait for the pictures!

  By the way it sounds like your sister and niece were not being the most cooperative for you wedding?  Is that how they always are?  If that was me and they were going to make me late I would of left them.  LOL I have some family drama though.

  We used the one on Twain Ave. Yes, NH and all of the groomsmen went on Wednesday for our Thursday wedding. I would have liked them to go on Tuesday, but they all wanted to go together and two of the groomsmen weren't in town until Wednesday.

  As far as my sister and niece, they were driving me crazy. They expected NH and I to drive them around all weekend despite everything being a short walk, a small cab ride, or a free shuttle ride away. I really didn't want to drive in Vegas (usually don't have a car when we visit, we just walk or take a cab everywhere), and have to get the car out of self parking or valet etc etc. 
  
  My sister is usually not all about drama, but she's going through a separation/divorce and was just not really in good spirits. I tried to cheer her up, but nothing seemed to work.  When she refused to come hang out with us at Margaritaville, that really made me sad. None of my family was at my bachelorette party.
  
  My niece is always a drama queen. They were supposed to be getting ready while I had my make up done, but they waited until I was done.  I told them I was leaving and they asked me to wait. I wanted to go to Caesars together so we'd know where the garden was and even if I arrived on time and they were late, we couldn't have started without them since they were in the bridal party.  Finally I said we can't wait any longer and I left the room and headed down to the lobby. My niece forgot her flowers in my room (they were artificial) and also forgot to put on the pink sash that went with her dress and the necklace I bought. She said she didn't want to be without flowers so I told her she could go back to the room, and we'd meet her at Caesars.  She decided she didn't want to go back and so she came in the cab with us. When we got to the bridal waiting area, my sister decided she didn't want to wear the sash if she was the only one. She wore a different necklace too, so all of the money I spent on accesories was a big waste.  I love them, but they were difficult all weekend!  (Sorry for the rant LOL)
  
  Edit: Also - we only ended up being about 15 mins late but still started on time (I would have preferred not to be late at all, of course) Luckily the cabbie from PH to Caesars really hauled it. It's not that far anyway, but he kept saying he'd take care of us. Seriously from door to door I think it took all of 6 or 7 minutes.

  Sorry to hear that about your family Eb.  It's very disappointing when family who you are close with act that way during a special time in your life.

  That sucks about your situation with Yolos considering they were fabulous for us!! We did pick off of the group menu and put a 25% deposit down so that may be something to do with it? Glad everything else seemed to go well though!
