Include boquet toos, cake cutting, etc. in program?

Hello,
I think including the wedding events past the ceremony like the first dance and cake cutting and boquet toss arent traditionally included in the program, but i think it would be nice for guests. I was just at a wedding where half the guests left before the cake cutting and almost everyone left before the boquet toss, because the bridal party took forever and no one knew what was going on. Is anyone else doing something similar?
Thanks in advance!

  • Are your ceremony and reception in the same location?  Often times guests don't keep the ceremony programs and just leave them in the seats/pews.  Although, if they saw there was a reception timeline, they may be inclined to bring it with.

Would you list the timing or just the events that would happen?

I've never seen a program at a reception...it's always been fairly obvious to me what to do at a reception. I've never missed any of those things at a wedding, even when I left early. Just make sure you don't do them too late in the timeframe, so guests who need/want to leave can
  • yes, our ceremony and reception are at the same location

  • I wouldn't lock yourself into times for those things. Even though you'll have a timeline for the day, you might find things don't happen exactly when you planned them. Sounds more like the wedding you were at was completely disorganized and adding those things into a program wouldn't have helped anyway.
