Sunday Morning, the most wonderful day of the year.

Morning Ladies, wow, great day to be alive.  Got my cleaning started.  Dog at my feet.  Centerpiece mockups done, OOT bags done, bachelor and bachelorette dinners done, It has been a weekend of getting it done.  Thanks go out to my crew of college kids and friend from NEPA.

Once Friday hits let the festivities begin.

Who is around, what are you doing this weekend, what is for dinner today?

hahah clearly, someone is excited her wedding is quickly approaching :)

I spent the weekend updating my blog, which now has a bunch of tutorials for some of the DIY I did for the wedding.  Today I am going to go grocery shopping and then head to my parents.  We finally got our wedding album and they want to see it.
  • Morning!

Ski - you just celebrated your 1 year knotiversary.  And my but you're awfully chipper and working hard already today.  Excited for the wedding, yeah?  ;-)

  • Sorry, Hockey, I kinda am bursting, a whee little bit.  Hope it wasn't super obnixious.  Oh well, I am off to check out your blog.  I could never keep a blog on current, it would be fast and furious for a while and then the dead zone.

  • hahah don't apologize!!!!

I think it is sweet! :)

Morning MrsB.  yes, certainly running on fun stuff right now in our household.  Both my kids were in from college for the first part of the weekend.  I love having them home.

What has babyB been doing for fun this week?
  • Yay for ski's wedding!! You sound exactly like you should and it's wonderful.  Sending lots of wedding thoughts and hugs your way for a really wonderful wedding day.

And, yes, it really IS the MOST wonderful day of the year today.  DS leaves for Boy Scout camp today for a WEEK.      ONE. WHOLE. WEEK!!!!!

Oldest DD is 31, DS is 17.  I've been doing this fulltime mom thing for over 31 years.  I love my son, he has the most wicked sense of humor, and he is a great kid. However.....this is the week DH and I pretend to be empty nesters.  One week a year, it is our little fantasy. WooHoo. Yes, we are very easily entertained, but dangit, it's good for at least 2 date nights in a week.
  • Good morning!

It is pouring on and off right now so I'm not going to head out to the grocery store. We are going to see a movie in a little bit and maybe run some errands depending on if it's still raning. I love listening to the rain but not going out in it.

For dinner we're having meatloaf, hash brown casserole, and some type of green vegetable.

  • We've gone to the park, played t-ball (sorta), soccer, (sorta), and built tons of  mega block towers which is really all about the knocking down. ;-)

  • kmms, oh the days of Boy Scout camp.  My son is 19 so we just got done with that in the last few years.  It is a great program.  My son's troop was small but active with many great adults committed to making sure it was a great experience.

Petals, I love your dinner, I LOVE MEATLOAF.  Do you get that?

FI is not around till tomorrow night so I am totally not cooking today.  Unless, popping an english muffin in the toaster counts.  Or making a banana daquiri.  I do not believe that drinking counts for cooking.

Sir Barks Alot wants me to take him out in the back field and go for a nice long walk along the woods.  It is probably now or never if I am going to remain on task this morning.  Lists everywhere!

  • I love meatloaf too. I never liked it growing up. It's been an adult thing for me. Mine is pretty good if I say so myself.

My throat is hurting still. It started Friday night and kept me awake last night.

<div>Drinking definitely does NOT count as cooking.  With that thought in mind, I will be drinking later.</div><div>
</div><div>DS joined scouts at the beginning of his freshman year, he will be a senior in the fall.  He has Asperger's and I remember wondering how he woud do his first camp.  That was a non-issue for sure.  This has been the most wonderful experience and he starts his Eagle project in the next couple of months.  I have never seen a troop with such an enormous amount of dedicated men.  Good thing because we just got a bunch of Webelos and now the troop is ginormous.</div>
  • kmm that is awesome that your son found a group that he really enjoys...I know that must be tough for a child with aspergers.  An Eagle Scout project is a huge deal! Good luck to him!!!!!!
  • kmms, very cool that he is going after his Eagle.  My son earned his to thanks to the dedicated people who were a part of his scouting experience.  I truly believe that it takes a community to raise a child.

  • Good morning!

I'm so happy it's Sunday...yesterday I managed to burn my right hand on coffee (I tripped on the stairs) and I have a paper to work on for school. Then, late last night I was walking down the stairs to let the dog out, and since I didn't turn on the light over the stairs, I missed the last two steps at the bottom.  I now have a twisted right ankle to go with my scalded right hand.

This, on top of the food poisoning I had on Wednesday/Thursday.

Yes, I'm happy it's Sunday too. Maybe the new week will be better.

Ski, I'm sending lots of happy thoughts your way...1 week to go!!!
  • Morning.  It's nasty here and I think I'm getting sick.  We need to get the house cleaned and get more stuff packed up so we can get it listed.  Fingers crossed this thing sells fast.  I have no idea what we're doing for dinner.  I might make H take me out for something good.

Petal, how do you make your meatloaf?  I'm still not sure if I like it.

  • I always hated meatloaf....but as I started dating H, I realized that my mom just never seasoned food.  I found a recipe for meatloaf that I really liked.  H thought it was a bit sweet.

  • MrsB, babyb is at such a fun age.  All the ages are fun, but some are certainly quite a bit funner.  Enjoy some for me.

Hockey that recipe looks good, and has been added to my recipe box.  I love allrecipes!  FI claims to not like meatloaf or casseroles yet he always seems to take seconds???

Lizzie, you have earned an afternoon in the chair working on your paper to recover from you spills and falls. Food poisening on top of that.  You deserve an afternoon of leisure.

Admar, fingers crossed.  Selling a house can be such an adventure.  All I can say at this point since mine just got taken back off the market so we can do some cosmetic changes and see if it will sell.

  • Adamar - I cut this recipe in half.

    2 lbs beef, 2 c bread crumbs, 1/2 c milk, 2 eggs, 2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp basil, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1 tbsp chili powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder

The recipe I have lists quite a few optional seasonings and vegetables but I just use the basic ones.

  • Geez Lizzy. Take it easy on yourself already!

We have so far had a lazy day. Doing a bit of laundry, and later we have to take care of all the clothes and crap we have sitting around, but tomorrow(!!) we have our visit cleaning lady visit!! YAAAAY!  So excited.

I'm really annoyed that H has yet to take a shower today. Normally I don't care, but today for some reason... sheer annoyance. Huh.

Ski, yoou're adorable. I don't remember being that excited. Hm.
  • Good morning ladies!

I have about 4.5 hours to kill with nothing to do in my old place. *sigh*

Adamar, good luck with the house!
  • I really should go grocery shopping...but I am dreading the fact that I have waited too long and it is going to be mobbed.  I know the longer I wait the busier it will be, but it is not helping me get motivated to go.

That looks good, Petal.  I can't stand meatloaf with ketchup baked on.  It freaks me out.

  • I feel a headache coming on.....gawd I hope it isn't one of THOSE headaches....
  • Right?  It's all weird and rubbery looking.  We're house sitting for a friend next week, and she told us last night to eat whatever we want.  They just did a Sam's club run, so I don't think we need to do much grocery shopping this week.  Score.  PLUS she's got a pool, so I really need this rain to chill out.

  • Aryn, is today the day you begin your new adventure in your new town?  Pardon me if I am behind the times because I am either not remembering or I haven't been around much and you have already told.
  • Hockey, I would love to go grocery shopping for you. I have no idea why but I love to go grocery shopping. And Oh my goodness Whole Foods had such a wonderful vegan cheese section!!! I think I'll love grocery shopping even more now.

Adamar, that sounds like a pretty sweet gig. I love hanging out by the pool.

  • I need a pool. Yes, need. It's beyond want. It is a requirement for the next house.

  • Ski, not yet. I moved into my new place on Thursday but I'm back at the old place to babysit S one last time. They asked me to babysit today about a month ago, so I didn't want to bail on them. I start my new job tomorrow though :)
