Hey ladies, are any of you getting married at the same location as your reception?  What are you doing for transportation?  I would like to not have FI or myself drive to the hotel that night, and I guess I could have a sober member of the family drive us.  Most limo companies seem to have a 4 hr minimum, but we won't need transportation in between, and will be getting ready at the site 3 hrs before the reception, so I'm not going to hire a driver to take me there.  I don't mind cabs any other time in my life!  haha  Just wondering if anyone else has that same situation and a good solution.

    We hired a coach bus, regular bus lots of comffy seats they charge per trip.

    I'm thinking of hiring a school bus. So far they have been the most cost efficient way that I have priced out

    Our ceremony and reception are taking place at the same location. We hired a coach bus to transport guests from the hotel to the venue and back. FI will be taking the hotel shuttle to get to the venue and I'll drive my car there in the afternoon. But at the end of the night, we'll be calling a town car company to drive us back to the hotel. Not as fancy as a limo, but the limo prices we had found were outrageous. A one-way trip in a town car was a lot more reasonable. We'll pick up my car the next day.

    Hmmm, I need to look into this more, but even the local town car places had a 4 hr min.

    We hired a horse and carriage to take us to our hotel.  It's only a few blocks away from our venue downtown. If we were going to be far from the venue, we probably would have done the towncar too.

    We're doing the same shuttle bus situation as PP but taking the shuttle back too.

    we are in the same situation ceremony and reception in same place  and we are doing our first look there!!! ugg this is one of the small but major things that i am finding incredibly annoying to try to figure out! i am staying in a hotel the night before because our apartment is too small for all my girls to get ready together in ... me 4 bms hair and makeup plus a photographer... it would be way too cramped. i figure my 2 oot bm can stay with me that night ... but then all the cars would be at the hotel so then those bm would also need a way to the wedding and back

    My FI is a car guy so I think he's planning on renting a car from Hertz (he won't tell me what kind...he said along the lines of a mustang, but not a mustang) and then us drive away at the end of the night. That way we have a car at the hotel that we can use to take us to the airport, without having to have my parents come get us and drive us to our honeymoon. haha

    We are and I'm not 100% sure yet.  I'm almost thinking we may just walk to the hotel (1/2 mile). It will depend on the weather, of course.  We might have a limo or town car though..I don't know.

    our venue was able to book us a limo for just the ride home since I didn't want to get in out or little car in my nice dress.  Our venue is only 5 minutes away from the house so we're going to go for a short spin and then head home.  Maybe take a pic or two some place.
