Re: Really? Just Really?

• Listen I dont make the rules. People have been banned for far less offenses than saying "I do wedding planning on the side" Its just a warning to you. So do whatever you want with it.

[QUOTE]It just irked me. We are going to the other social hall closer to my families. I am not going to name drop or anything like that. I dont believe in mixing friends/family with my personal events. A lot of hard feelings and disasters come from that I have learned. I just was at awe at how rude the lady was, the outrageous prices and the claims she made, and the fact that the average person in the community this place is located in was in no way able to afford it.

Except it's not family/friends. This is a business relationship you have with the hall.

I contacted an old business associate for assistance for my wedding; I have gotten "friends & family" (wink wink) discounts because I know people at my vendors; and I'm not even in the industry.

There is no reason not to call them up and say HI, I'm Stormz and my company does XYZ for you and I'm looking for a wedding venue".

yeah pretty much. and it drives me insane. i dont think it would have bothered me if she wasnt so snotty. just feel bad, would much rather keep things local than to go to the other hall.

To an extent, but I would rather pay regular prices than have any favors. I know its an option but just rather not because I dont want to deal with the strings attached. And it is not like I mind donating to the firehalls around here, it is actually my preference because I am going to have to pay a venue anyways.

We just decided to go to the other firehall. We dont have to ask for favors, we get more time, and its much more reasonable plus we can hire a few of the guys to do everything so all the money stays in their company instead of subcontracting out so they make the most.

They serve the community around my dad so it is not too bad. Still a shame.
• I need to know where this is in Pittsburgh.

Also...I'm a born and raised 'Burgher but I've never personally known anyone who draws in their brows. I guess I'm lucky?
