i think i want a veil...

So... 2 months and 6 days to go and i think i want a veil... Is it too late? When i went looking for a dress in the beginning one girls that helped me put a veil on me but i quickly took it off because i wasn't feeling it. But it might have been because it was too long and ugly. Anyways I bought a flower to put in my hair but i feel like it may not be enough. here is the pic. just pretend my hair is nice ... you can see the flower in the back. Do i need a veil with all the detail in my dress already there?

I think either would look great with your dress. If you decide you do want one, I recommend trying Added Attractions in Garwood. She'll make you a veil which may save time. Good luck!

i love veils.  i feel like they make a bride look like a bride.  i ordered my veil at my first fitting (about 8 weeks before my wedding), and they said it was more than enough time.  so i think you should definitely look into it!

they have so many options...you can do a very simple, not overpowering veil.

    good luck! :)

I only ordered mine last week - so it's definitely not to late. I say go for it. I agree with PP saying that the veil makes the bride look like one. I'm doing a flower in my hair too.

I agree I'm a big fan of a veil mine is long!! (see final fitting post below) Its the one day you can wear it and to me it made me feel like I was a bride not just dressed up in a fancy white dress (if that makes sense)

Or do your hair to a side knot and put flower more on the side.  Added Attractions in Garwood is good for last minute things like veils...

I borrowed my veil from a friend who got married a year before me. Any friends have a nice one you could borrow? I was happy I didn't have to buy one

my dress had similar detailing as yours.  I got a plain elbow length veil.  it had a few scattered rhinestones on it, that's it.  I got it at Cinderella, but I believe True Love had a good selection too. i just felt more like bride wearing a veil.  however, i think the flower is pretty.  give a veil a try and see if you change your mind

I ordered mine from BellaBridalVeils on Etsy (love_jael mentioned her) and really liked it. It was inexpensive and it was delivered within a few weeks.

I say, get a cheapo one off eBay or Etsy or Craigslist and try it. If you don't like it, then you won't be wasting much money. Or borrow one, like Karma said. Or make one if you have the patience ... Google for tutorials.

Maybe a birdcage veil? Would you feel better about that than a longer veil?

If you decide to ditch the veil, I would personally get a bigger hairpiece/flower and position it someplace where you can see if from the front. I see the flower in your reflection and it's pretty, but the front view has no oomph.

If you have a long aisle for the wedding a veil can really add dramatic affect and just be used for the ceremony.  Try to envision how you will look coming down the aisle.  If you are not getting married in a church they I say you can just do flower.  But in a church the drama of the veil is really nice.
