Florist Recommendations, Please!

Hey Ladies!
My Fiance and I have been trying to break the planning down into sections to try to keep the stress level down, and it's time for us to start thinking about flowers! I was originally thinking about making the bouquets and center pieces myself with fake flowers, but then started thinking that I didn't think that I would be able to make the boutonnieres. That made me think that maybe I would make the bouquets and just have a florist make the boutonnieres. I was really just thinking about doing the flowers myself to save on expenses, but then thought that I should probably check out some florists just so that I've looked at all of my options. The flowers aren't incredibly important to me, so I'm not looking to get a ton of flowers, and I'm not going to really be that particular about them.  If I do choose to go with a florist, I would like to keep the cost between $500 to $750, or less. I could go a little higher than that, but I would prefer to keep it as low as possible. Do any of you have any recommendations? From any florists you have worked with, or any research you have done, do you think it would be possilbe to find a florist within this budget? We have 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, 2 flowergirls and a ring bearer. Did any of you do DIY flowers, and how was your experience doing that?

Thanks so much in advance for your advice!!

We are using Flowers on Springtree Lane.  The ladies are really nice.  I'm sure they could make something work with your budget, use flowers that are in season and it will keep your price down!

I am using Manor House Flowers. This was the most reasonable place I found. My flowers are very elaborate and she came in about half of everyone else that I met with. Mandy works out of her own home so she is able to avoid overhead costs that  florists shops have.

I would try Hilliard Floral Design, however I am not sure they will be able to stay in that price range. I have 6 BM, 6GM and 2FG and 1RB and they were about $1200. I was told just about every place I went that if you have over 3-4 BM's and GM's that your prices will be between about $850-$1200 roughly. Of course that included all the corsages and boutineers for the grandma's and mom's, the altar flowers pew bows, and the flower that will be a part of the reception centerpiece, and the flowers on my cake, so I guess that isn't too bad. It all depends on what other things you have them do besides just your basic flowers. Good Luck.....

I went with Flower Galaxy on Lane Ave.  I too have 5 bridesmaids and groomsmen.  My total price including all the corsages for grandparents, reader, guestbook, parents, a toss bouquet, and flower petals for the reception was under 1200.  If you do not have all the little extras, they will definitely fit your budget.  Good luck!

I'm getting my flowers from Sunny Meadows Farm. Steve and Gretel are the owners, and I believe they do some floral arrangements/bouquets for weddings. They also supply wholesale flowers, which is what I'm doing (very simple mason jar centerpieces). I met with them in person and they're very lovely to work with, very flexible and collaborative. They've invited me to visit the farm a few weeks before the wedding, so I can get a feel for what I want. I'm getting all the flowers for my centerpieces from them for under $300.00 (I gave them my budget and they helped me narrow down the kind/amount of flowers that will be in season, etc.).

    Here's their website: http://www.oursunnymeadows.com/

I second Flowers on Springtree Lane! I am using them for my wedding in March. They were able to fit well within my budget (which is around yours) and I am very excited about the arrangements we have planned!

There's a florist place around here that has DIY floral arrangements... they can do it where they send you the flowers and you do it all (cheapest), or that they have someone come out and they help you put them together.  From what I gather it's pretty affordable to do it that way.  I don't remember off the top of my head the name of the place, but maybe someone else has heard of them. They were at the bridal show at the Aladdin Shrine back in January.

I have the same question? My mom is taking care of a bunch of stuff, but I need to find a flower company? Did you happen to get the number for Flowers by Jerry?

I don't recomment Janna coe designs.  I set up an appointment with her drove all the way to Gahanna from Ashley Ohio (northern end of Delaware county) and she didn't show up.  When I called her she sounded shocked and came up with a "family emergency" excuse even though I could hear playing kids in the background.  She claimed she didn't have my number even though I left my number on he voicemail and she called me back to set up the appointment.  She was not sorry or did not offer a discount.  Maybe she did have a family emergency and if she did I am sorry but it really did not seem like it and I was completely put off by the whole thing.
