Re: Boss's SO

  • You really should invite them with their SOs.  It's generally rude to exclude a partner when there is a committed, long-term relationship.
  • Yes, you should invite them.  They are a social unit.  How would you feel if your FI got invited to a wedding but you were left out?

Your wedding is not your time to pass judgment about someone's choice in mate.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Yes you need to invite them.  They may not come anyway, but you definitely need to extend the invitation.

  • You must invite their SOs. Consider how awkward it would be for them to see your co-worker's SO there when their own SOs weren't invited.

  • And for the record, nobody bit your head off. This type of question gets asked more frequently than it should be, and would not need to be asked if people would give their questions some thought beforehand with some empathy and common sense thrown in for good measure.
  • A celebration of the union/relationship between too people is not the time to judge another's relationship and disrespect their union.

  • Think of it this way... If you were having a backyard BBQ would you only invite some people's SO and not others??

Mostly likely not,  weddings are no different.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • If you think your head got bit off, you clearly haven't spent much time on here.

Ditto everyone's advice, sounds like you will do the right thing now.
