Anyone 'round these parts?

Re: Anyone 'round these parts?

  • I miss wine.

I got lazy for dinner and make a chicken salad since I had leftover chicken from Thursday night.  I kinda want to rent a movie for tonight but don't feel like driving to the corner to Redbox.

  • I'm starting to get really hungry now.  I hope my Chinese gets here soon.
  • I like my pizza hot. H doesn't care. He will eat any kind of pizza.

I still need to read The Help and see the movie. My mom saw the movie and didn't read the book, which is odd for her.

i would like to do more crafts, but I am not good at them. I have a picture in my head what they will turn out to be and the end product is nothing close to what I thought they would look like.

  • I thought you also gave up lethargy? GO GET A MOVIE :)

[QUOTE]strlz I think you mean the movies always leave things out.

You're right I did.  My bad.  Thanks for catching that!
  • I mean, I get that movies have to be around a certain length or it'll be too long and yadda yadda yadda, but it still makes me sad when the good stuff is gone, or important stuff.

I also always find myself thinking, "If I hadn't read the book, would I understand what's going on right now?" But maybe I'm just crazy.

  • I agree Thankfulsnail. There were some really good parts that were left out.

  • I like my pizza hot as well, but I don't like it heated up in the microwave unless it's a really thick crust.

Man, Kelly, you are harsh haha.

Also, Kelly, you inspired me to make red wine risotto as well, so we will be having that with our dinner tonight.

My younger sister has not read any of the HP books but has seen all the movies (she once claimed she got headaches from trying to read them, but her MIL bought her a Kindle Fire for Christmas, but I digress).  My mom & I had to do a LOT of explaining in the car after we'd just seen 7.1.  It drove me batty.

<div>Maybe I'm not crazy, then. I just have a tough time when I know how the structure of the plot worked in the book seeing how they translate it into the film, which is usually weaker. I definitely felt this way with the HP movies. But those would have been 8 hour movies if nothing got taken out, I guess.</div>

  • I just realized that I never hooked my DVD player up.  Now I can't even find the right cords for it.  Maybe I'll have to rent a PPV movie instead.

  • Eventually you just get to a point (especially with long series like HP) of accepting that things will be left out, but it's still disappointing to see major plotlines left out.
  • Hey again!  We're going out for dinner with friends, but KJB still has me wanting pizza.  Curses!

Miss you all!  I'll be toasting all you night winos from here in Tampa.

    xoxo

  • KJB and Ciara made me want pizza too. I now have pita pizza in the oven :)
  • crfb, try some extra cumin in the chili as well. That always seems to help mine taste more chili like for some reason.
  • Love chili. There is a chili cook off tomorrow that I want to go to, but H doesn't like chili.
  • silly gose, why'd you make chili then? My FI doesn't like chili either so I don't think you're that odd.
  • Oooo I must have missed the competition part. Good luck!

I like chili but I'm not normally one to make it. We just got back and groceries are put away. The guys are both napping now so the house is quiet and smelling like chicken cooking.

  • Evening ladies.

I got a lot done today. Got my wedding shoes, picked up my sister's BM dress and the sash for my FG dress, got the paper for the invitation mats, got our passport pictures done, and FI tried on some potential wedding outfits.
  • Very productive Aleigh. You are getting close.

  • Did they let you smile for the passport pictures?

  • I think the not smiling thing is weird. I've always been able to smile for both DL and passport photos.

I'm still bitter that I got a new passport JUST old enough now that it doesn't qualify for the free renewal after getting married. dumb.
