So I called my contact at the hotel where I'm having my wedding and ceremony to make a couple changes to room reservations, she directed me to 'the reservation guy', I asked him if I could change my room reservation for the night before and the night of my wedding, originally I had it for only the night of my wedding. He told me that that Friday is all booked up (foliage season in VT and a large university's homecoming weekend) but that by that time he's sure a room will open up and that I will probably be able to have both nights. I then asked him exactly how many rooms they had reserved for me, he said 7, because that's what your contract said.
I'm rather peeved about the whole situation, because basically, all the rooms in my block are already full and my invites went out this week, and they can't make my block bigger because there are no rooms available at the hotel for the Friday night before my wedding DESPITE me calling MONTHS ago asking them to add at least five more rooms to my block and being told by my coordinator that she would add rooms as necessary, but since I still had some at that time she wouldn't do it right then. She KNEW that UVM's homecoming was that weekend when I called, and so did I, which is why I called!
The good news is that the people I know are coming and know needed to have rooms are booked in my block already. If anybody else is planning on staying in a hotel Friday night they'll have to try and find a room elsewhere. There are a lot of other hotels/motels around so it's not as if this is the only place to stay nearby. But still, frustrated!!!
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!
