    1.       Abalone

    15.    Carp
    21.    Chitterlings/Chitlins
    26.    Crickets
    27.    Currywurst
    28.    Dandelion wine
    30.    Durian
    41.    Fugu
    48.    Haggis
    49.    Head Cheese
    55.    Kangaroo
    58.    Lassi
    63.    Nettle Tea
    69.    Pavlova
    70.    Phaal
    79.    Rabbit Stew
    84.    Sea Urchin
    85.    Shark
    87.    Snake
    92.    Squirrel
    97.    Umeboshi

I've had the option to try Haggis, Head Cheese, Sea Urchin, and Fugu, but passed it up.

I would try a lot of the other things on the list if they were prepared and given to me.

To the PP who doesn't eat Foie Gras because principle.  Did you know that Chicago made it illegal to serve Foie Gras?  They overturned the law, but it was a huge debate.

  • I've only tried 45, I'm bummed I haven't done more, but at the same time a lot of the ones I have tried I would never eat again... eff spam, eff haggis, eff borchst.

I may have to google frito pie and a few others. I refuse to eat shark and octopus (even before vegetarianism), too much respect for the creatures.

I think I read that somewhere a while back. Good for them. It's horrifying what they do to those birds (ducks and geese) in order to make it. I'm not a vegetarian or into PETA, but personally, I gotta draw the line there.

Currywurst is delicious!  it's like "the" street corner fast food in Germany.  I think I ate it at least every week in my childhood with a big side of pommes and you eat them with cute little mini plastic fork-picks.

  • Okay, so the ones I had to look up:

Bellini- a drink with peach and sparkling wine? heck yes.

Pavlova- Russian meringue dessert- I'd try it

Frito pie- omg, I had to turn my face away from the screen, white trash flashbacks.

Som tam- Also known as Tam Bak Hung, spicy shredded soup, I've had this! I've had every Asian thing on the list, I think, except the fugu.

I don't really even like Foie Gras, but I found it a little bit ridiculous that they made it illegal.  Slaughter houses aren't exactly known for their humane practices either.

They changed the law back because restaurants were able to get around the law in so many ways, that it just seemed pointless.  All they had to do was say that they were serving a burger with a side of foie gras....so they weren't actually selling the foie gras.
  • Ok, I just looked up Frito pie, thinking it would be different than it sounds (stuff like this sometimes is), and I'm pretty sure I made that as a kid as an after-school snack, I just didn't know it had a name. I am underwhelmed.

I think fried pickles should have been on the list. And baloney/bologna cake. And scrapple. (I've had these three, too).
