Hotels in the Branford area?

Hi Ladies! We are getting married at Lighthouse Point Park, in New Haven. I really wanted to rent a suite for the night before for my BM's and I. I wanted a suite so its a big room to get our makeup and hair done the day of also. I didn't really want to rent a room in New Haven.. I kinda get uneasy about New Haven, as stupid as that may sound. I've done some googleing, and haven't really found anything too great. I was looking in the Branford area. Theres the Holiday Inn express, but they don't really have any Suites, and I believe the other option was the "best value inn." Any ideas? Thanks in advance for all your help!

I know you're uneasy about New Haven, but Branford/East haven ect all just have crappy motels. The Omni in New Haven is really nice. I got a room there for my friends bachelorette and I always see wedding parties going in and out when I'm down there. They also have a Spa too on site!

I am in agreement with Alexis. Branford hotels are gross. They only have the Comfort Inn and what not. The Omni on Temple was exactly what I was going to suggest too! Great minds.... Anywho it's in a very nice area right near the green and next to the Yale campus. So it's really a college neighborhood an nothing crazy is going on. It's the hotel we used for the company I worked for when people traveled in. Across the street is a little bar owned by a friend of mine called Temple Grill. It's a really great place for amazing food or a drink.

Yes, Branford hotels are crappy and run down. Ditto on the Omni. I work in New Haven and the Omni is one of the hotels we send all of our clients too and they always rave about it. Another nice hotel in that area is the New Haven Lawn Club.
