Wedding Woes

s/o stastically...we have to hve cheaters on this board too, right?

ever wondered who they might be?
Great popoff topic.

(and I know stats don't really work that way.  But, hey, lets run w/ it for a moment)

The interwebz say 40% of women will have an affair while married (I think that seems high but, whatev).
So that means there are a bunch of us who are due to sleep w/ someone else...or who already have.

I'm going to go ahead and pick out a man, just in case I am among the destined.

I think GBCK means that we are cheaters and she wants to single us out.

Legally, I am a cheater and I am okay with that.

I think they're more women cheating than we think.

I also think that out of 25+ women that post regularly on this board, at least one of the spouses, male or female have cheated or will cheat.

I know that's kinda Debbie Downerish, but true.

I just couldn't do it.  I would be wracked with guilt and I'm not good at hiding things from H.  Plus, if I'm going to do something like cheat, I might as well just call our marriage off at that point before hand.

I don't think this board is a representative sample of the population at large.

Most regulars here have standards, morals and ethics that would preclude them from conducting such behavior.

NOLA, 3 Libertarians to start with.

Have cheated? Well, H did, with his ex. Does that count?

Right now I'm embarrased for DH to see me naked.  I can't imagine anyone else.

I was the mistress for awhile.

This board is all middle to upper middle class, for starters.  Add to that the fact that we stay regulars here because we share common judgy values, and you have a very skewed sample.

Neither DH nor I have ever cheated on someone else, but we've both been the other person.

Kuus, that's true, but in my old age, I'm just not surprised about anything anymore.

Let's revisit this in 5 years. Add young kids. money stresses, not communicating to the mix, and things can happen.

    I hope it doesn't, FTR.

I also wonder about the definition of "cheating". I know we have people on here who think flirting with other men is sketchy - so how did they define cheating in the study GB cited, or how do we define it on here?

Ummmm...    You think middle to upper middle class people don't have as many affairs?   I think you're way off.   And, might I add, being more than a little elitist.

No, I'm just using that as an example of why this board is a skewed population sample rather than a representative one.  Though I have to say, old money folks seem to have a lot of affairs.
