Wedding Woes

I'm sure we'd all pass, but I don't think 62% is that bad.

http://www.newsweek.com/2011/03/20/how-dumb-are-we.html

38% of the 1000 people who took the Newsweek-provided version of the citizenship test failed it.

Considering the lack of civics classes around the country and the general stupidity of people, I think 62% passing the test is more than we could have expected.

The link above has a link to 20 of the questions people got wrong the most; you can take a practice test (including questions about your state) here:

This is the only question I got wrong:

    16) Name one problem that led to the Civil War.
    A. economic reasons
    B. human rights
    C. election freedom
    D. presidential conflicts

I have to disagree.  I thought the correct answer should be A & B but that wasn't an option.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.

Yeah, I felt that way about some questions. Like, the US has what kind of economy? - The answer isn't exactly "free market", is it?

I didn't know that Franklin started libraries.

That's the only question I got wrong, too. Exact same as you. I couldn't choose between, and really thought human rights should trump economics, so I  picked that.

i took it twice - once for PA and once for TX - got 85% and 90% - i think some of the answers were BS, and was laughing at some of the grammatical and spelling issues.
