I love meeting other Hyatt Cambridge brides :) When is your wedding date? We are not getting married until October 9th. I hope you are having a good experience with them.

I agree, I thought KM had the best cake. I am a little torn on which tiers to have the flavors. We are having a 4 tiered cake- top layer is our anniversary cake which will be Tiramisu (since it will freeze better than the Strawberry Grand Marnier). I was going to have the following two tiers as Tiramisu and the bottom layer as Strawberry Grand Marnier- thinking it will balance out and have half of each. Now I am thinking about having more Strawberry Grand Marnier. Thoughts? How did you distribute your scrumptious flavors?

Hi BostonGirl!  Our wedding is Aug 21, coming up so fast!  I'm psyched to find another Hyatt bride too!

We are having a pretty small wedding, so just a 3 tier cake.  We also LOVED the Strawberry Grand Marnier and  are having our biggest tier of that.  Then the second layer will be Lemon Citron.  It is pretty similar and I loved it, also it gives guests an option.  The top we're also going to freeze so it will be lemon citron.  We like these flavors also since they are light for a summer wedding.

We didn't get to try the tiramisou, how was that?  My sister's cake (years ago) was from KM and she did tiramisou I think.  She also had a fall wedding.  We thought the chocolate flavors were too rich/heavy for our summer wedding.

We liked KM's cake the best and were also happy, we got everything we wanted with no upgrade charges where both Icing on the Cake and Montilio's wanted extra for similar things.

I think your plan is good to have about half and half of the flavors!  That gives guests a choice which is nice.  We are doing a buffet, so the guests will be able to choose their flavor off the buffet table.  If you do it served, they can just share wtih each other to try the different flavors, which I always enjoy at weddings.

Thanks for your input. I was going back and forth so much on this since yesterday. I am going to keep the cake as is then.

Congratulations on your wedding and happy planning!! Feel free to message me anytime regarding the Hyatt or anything at all! So far they Hyatt has been a pretty good experience for me except for maybe the room block.
