Bed, Bath & Beyond - want to register there, but they dont' carry china in every store

From all of the reviews I've read, people seem to love Bed, Bath and Beyond because their return policy is hassle free and you get tons of coupons. I want to register there, also because they carry the Lenox china I want, and it's 20% cheaper there than at Macy's. The only thing I'm wondering about is the fact that they don't carry fine china in all of their locations. Has this been a problem for anyone in the past? I want to make it easy for those folks who do not like to order online, and I'm worried they will be put off by the fact that the location nearest them may not carry the china we registered for. Any thoughts?

  • *shrug* I don't think this is anything you can/should worry about.  People are going to do what they're going to do.
  • You won't be able to please everyone no matter what you do.  There are very few, if any, china patterns that will be carried at every single store people might want to go to!

Register for what you love.  Don't settle out of convenience.  You're going to have to look at this for the rest of your life!

  • I think if they go to the store and show them your registry, they can order it through the store and have it shipped to your house.  I might be wrong, but I think I remember them telling me that whne I registered there.

  • They should be able to order in store as well as online.  Do the stores near the bulk of your guests carry china?
  • As I understand the way the BBB china registry works, your guests won't be able to purchase china for you even if the BBB they go to has a china display.  Apparently, even the stores that display china don't carry the china in stock and make guests have it shipped (with a shipping charge).  So all your guests will be in the same boat in that regard.  We have a BBB registry, but we did china at Macy's for that reason alone. I heard several brides say they got almost no china off of their BBB registries because guests didn't want to deal with the shipping crap.
  • Thanks for all your feedback. I agree I shouldn't worry too much about this, but like chasegl said, I was worried that we won't get any settings of the china if it's too hard for people. I know the older folks like to have gift in hand.
  • I used to work for Bed Bath and Beyond. One thing the couples loved was that you could put China on you registry and if someone went to a store that didn't have it in the store they could have it ordered wrapped and shipped directly to the bride and groom. If you go register at a store that doesn't have China you can either add it online or they have timesavers that will allow you to add it in the store. Hopefully this has helped you.
  • If they go to a BB&B and don't have the item you registered for the bridal registry department with give your guest a decorative gift box that they can bring to the wedding reception. In the box is a little card that says the guest name and what they bought you and the gift will be delivered to you. So when you do your registry make sure you have given them a address where your gifts can be shipped to if you and your FH happen to be on your honeymoon still. Hope this helps.

  • We registered for our china at BB&B and our guests bought all of it for us, even though they had to order it in the store. They had it shipped to them and they gave it to us at the shower, so you don't have to ship it to the bride and groom.
