Major Concerns with Memory Lane Videographers

Hi All,

We had our wedding in June and recently received our video from Memory Lane Videographers. I initially rated them a B/B- on our reviews but I wanted to update that to a D- after we have had the following issues:

- We originally booked one of their largest packages with the option for a third camera. The third camera was an add on to the package. When we finished reviewing our budget we decided $1,000 for an extra camera was too much and took it off the package. Memory Lane came back and tried to tell us they would not have time to do interviews with the bridal party without the extra camera (even though its part of the original package!) My husband works in TV and called their bluff and it all worked out, but hassle.

- They posted a sneak peak of the video to their blog with my Husbands name spelt wrong and the wrong wedding date

- At the wedding they did not use the updated wedding party list that we gave them a few weeks before the wedding. There was an issue with a guy that we originally planned to have as a groomsmen and he ended up being a guest, but not a groomsmen, they interviewed him as part of the wedding party... AWKWARD. Luckily they managed to edit it out of the video

- When we received our video it came with a bunch of crinkled up paper that had ANOTHER CUSTOMERS name, address, telephone and CREDIT CARD NUMBER! We reached out to Memory lane and they ensured us this was not typical, but it is scary.

- Overall communication issues with them not responding to our emails etc.

I know a lot of people on this board don't use videographers, but I thought I would post anyway because this is the only vendor we had such a bad experience with.

That sucks!!!  Thanks for posting this for those that are considering a videographer.

We had an AWFUL videographer, I would never want anyone to use her either!!!  In hindsight I think a videographer is a waste of money anyway.

It's funny that you say that because the one thing I regret is not having a videographer... A friend recorded the ceremony for us but you can't hear half of it. I wish we at least had a good recording of that. Oh well...

Thanks for the review, I'm sorry you had a bad experience! Are you at least pleased with the finished video? I for one am a big fan of professional videography, I wouldn't have budged on getting it for our wedding, not for anything! Being able to watch our sweet day is absolutely priceless :)

The video turned out good. My husband works in TV and he was not as impressed. I do like having a recording of what we said though.

Thanks for the info.! We briefly considered Memory Lane, but we are going with SureShot Videography instead.

I cannot believe they were that careless with someone's CC info! I woud have been irate!

I think I'm just jealous because our video came out bad and haven't heard too many bad video experiences.

Totally love our ceremony video though.
