Ceremony Locations

I'm new to posting, so if there is a post already about ceremony locations, I apologize!

My fiance and I have picked our location for our reception but still have no decided on a ceremony location. If we weren't having a fall (Pittsburgh Winter) wedding, we could have it at our reception site, but that is really not an option.

Neither of us belong to a church and we aren't sure if we want to rush to pick one just to find a place to get married and then perhaps stop attending. I've read online about a lot of churches being sour toward hosting a wedding for a couple that does not belong, which I totally get. Are there certain churches/non-denominational chapels that any of you know of that are ok with this?

For all of the brides out there that are having/had a similar problem, what do you suggest? Again, it's a November wedding so outdoors is really not an option and I don't mean to offend anyone who is strict on belonging to a church in order to get married there. Just would like some help! :)

Try Smithfield United Church of Christ, Downtown. We are having our ceremony there and they are very accomodating. We do not live in the area, so we are obviously not memebers and they have no problem with that.

Very nice pastor and staff to work with as well.

Please take a look at the "Welcome" post at the top of the page. It has a link to our recommended vendors page, which has a number of ceremony locations on it.

I did check out the Welcome post and probably should have stated that in my original post- sorry! My reception is in the Butler area and I live in the Cranberry Twp area, so I was looking for a ceremony site a little closer to that area (probably should have stated that, as well). Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)

Ah, ok! I do know that many girls are having their weddings in the city and I'm no help, I'm getting married in the South Hills. There some ladies who are very familiar with that area, so hopefully they'll chime in!

I am getting married there too! I have set anything with the pastor yet though, but we have started going there as our regular church and we really love. By the time we get married we plan to members there.

Do you know anything about the lighting situation in there? It is awfully bright.... and I would love to dim it down a bit.

Where at in Butler?  I live IN Butler.  I know of at least 2 churches in Butler that are willing to marry non-members.  I'm sure I can find more too.
