This a vent nwr to me at least

Sometimes I really hate fb or maybe it's the idiotic things that people post idk either way this irks me!!!

Someone who shall remain nameless there engaged just put road trip with wifey. I'm sorry but I absolutely hate when people do that and there not married. Yes your engaged but there hasn't been a wedding yet therefore she's not your wife yet!!!! I've been with my Fi over 9 yrs have never referred to him as my hubby some people may jokingly say to me bring your hubs but in all reality were not married he's my Fi and I think playing marriage like that on fb is kind of saying marriage isn't that big of a deal when it is. I cannot wait to marry Fi and be able to call him my husband but until we're married he's my fianc not my hubby hubs or whatever.

This is a vent not meant to offend anyone who does this but instead writing on his fb when did you get married and have backlash I decided to post here!

Happy Friday!!!

  • Ahhhhh! I freaking hate that as well. I don't know why but I do and it makes me IN-FREAKING-SANE when they do it. I've been with my love for 7 years and I've never done that. I also hate when people flash the ring on FB LOL, but I know most people do and I'm all alone on that one. :) All in all FB just makes me so mad. I do stalk peoples wedding pictures though, I'll admit that, and I also like to see who is unattractive or what peoples children look like but really, I get more irratated on fb then anywhere else. I really have thought about deleting my facebook account but I've had it for like EVER I hate to do so.

  • FI sometimes refers to me as his wife, and my parents have misspoke before and have referred to FI and my husband. Heck, my sister calls FI her BIL already. I take it as a compliment!

I call my Fi brother my bil as well heck he introduces me as his little sister to friends an has been for yrs. I just find it to be a little much when it's used in the context of he's my hubby bc he made dinner, only it's typed in high school phonetics. Different then saying we're husband and wife to be in mature way. Or someone saying that's his wife there getting married in x days and been together so many years. I hope I explained it better didn't mean to come out that no one should say it.
  • I may have referred to my FI as my "future hubby".  99.9% of the time though, I call him my FI.  He's not my husband and I'm not his wife.  Not yet at least.  I'm so excited for him to be though.  My FMIL already calls me her DIL.  I'm the "daughter she never had" so I just go along with it since it makes her happy and really, what's the harm?  It bothers me on FB when people who are dating call each other hubby and wifey.  It's weird.

I FB creep on wedding pictures.  And engagement pictures when they get pictures done when the guy proposes.  I'm getting to the point where a lot of people around my age are getting engaged, so there's always some new album to look at.

  • I will call my FI my future hubby or soon to be hubby, that's about it. I hate it when his boss call's me my FI's "old Lady".... I'm sorry but I am almost 21... I'm not going to be called his "old lady" when I'm half his bosses age.

  • Lol "old lady" is pretty bad. My FI calls me his wife, but he doesn't do it around anyone but me. It's more of a romantic "yay we're getting married" type of thing.

Am I the only person who hates the term "wifey?"  Like seriously.  I can't stand it.  It sounds patronizing to me.

  • I think the "wifey" thing depends on the couple and how it's used.  I've only ever been called it in texts by my FI.  And it had the word "future" in front.  If he ever said it, I'd probably be a little weirded out.

  • It amazes me what some people put on FB.  LIke, someone I know announced their engagement on FB.  They didn't tell any friends and family (except for moms) before posting it.  The whole circle of friends was in shock (a) that the engagement happened since they had been dating such a short period of time and (b) that the way everyone found out was through FB.

OK, now I am venting... lol

Back to your post, I agree.  He is my fiance until the day we are married.  Hubby, wife, etc are reserved for after the wedding day.
