Hello,
Havent posted on here an awful lot but Im from UK and got married on 31st May in Las Vegas and had a ball! Not one for long posts but heres a little about my day....
Glamsquad were the best! Had my hair 50s style, think dita von teese..the bridesmaids had mini bouffants. james and Ester were great and worked to our specifications perfectly. We also ended up buying some flowers to wear in bridesmaids hair so they all matched... bridesmaid hair accessories was the one thing id forgotten.
Wedding was at the Flamingo Gazebo Chapel at 5pm. My wedding Co-ordinator kandess had actually left without telling me! So when I got there i dealt with somebody else but they were really helpful and friendly so wasnt worried. Had heard some negative comments about Flamingo but i was really happy.. the venue was really nice and so were the flowers. The gazebo is near the pool but it wasnt loud and my guests were chatty and we had music so you couldnt hear anything anyway. The minister was nice and the photographer was ok too.. he seemed a litte strange.. maybe drunk! haha But got the proofs back today and they have come out really well..he used the fish eye lens for group shots which i love. We got $65 room service credit for breakfast in bed (omlettes at flamingo were the best!) and were given lots of skincare products champayne and glasses which wasa nice touch.
After the ceremony we spent abit having cashman shots that were included and guests went for a drink in the bar.
At 6pm we met the double decker bus and todd for a mini strip tour to the Vegas sign for photos. The bus tour was fun, i didnt know but the tours meant you get some guy in a tux talking about the casinos and scenary as you drive along... he was funny and mainly told us about fires, bankrupcy and famous murders in vegas!! Not typical wedding chat but we all had a good laugh!
Todd was snapping us the whole time but you dont notice which im so happy about as posing for photos is not my thing! We had some group shots at the vegas sign which i cant wait to see!
The Bus dropped us off at Planet Hollywood where we went to to Boulevard fountain view suite.. It was just right for my 36 guests... You could fit in another 10 i reckon..great size, really good layout... pool table was a hit as was view of bellagio fountains.. I had been concerned about having no decorations so bought some glittery vegas themed confetti which i spread all over the food tables and also bought some chocolate pokerchip coins.
We had a large pack of playing cards for guests to sign as guest book.
In the suite we had the margarita man machine so frozen margaritas all around! Great idea and only $130 for 24hours which i think is great deal...you had to buy the alcohol yourself.
ALso had Masterpiece cusine... SO SO SO much food!! Im actually ashamed of the amount left over... i was worried it wouldnt be enough but portions are VERY healthy in the USA! We had a make your own nachos, salad, fruit salad, sliders, ribs and chicken teryaki. All lovely. bar service great too. Would highly recommend masterpiece.
We had a poker cupcake tower cake from Freedy bakery which tasted so good.. all the guests were taking photos of it so i was really happy with my choice.
As a suprise for our guestswe had Eddie Powers come and play 3 songs.. he was so funny! Everyone loved him.. he actually stayed for about 2 1/2 hours! Eating nachos and playing pool with the lads!
Music we had an Ipod playing random songs from a playlist we created.
Guests left about 1am... the day had gone so fast but im so happy with how it went!
