I'm Wedding'ed Out

Tired of wedding stuff, and I don't know why.  I have no energy to do anything with WEDDING.  My dress is ready and I could care less if I get it picked up this week (although I have to).   I haven't been creeping the boards much - Very unusual.  Anyone else gone through this?  I just have no wedding desire at the moment.   My coordinator is calling today to go over the last few details, dont care.  How sad is that?! Frown

Can you say 'pre-partum wedding depression'...LOL.  I'm tired of hearing myself talk about it, dream about it, and the logistic 'what ifs' are getting on my nerves.  I only consult FI on 'big' stuff... like where the reception will be, how much, where to house his family (OOT), etc.  But hes tired of it too; his response to most things I ask is...'Just tell me where to stand and what time to be there'.

    We're both burnt-out.

  • I was going through a major depressive episode when we got married.  I started a new anti-d just weeks before so by the time the actual day rolled around, I was feeling somewhat better.

I imagine I probably would have gotten "wedding'ed-out" anyway.

With more than 4 months to go, its time to take a break anyway.  Chill out.  Relax. Take a breath.  Walk away from wedding planning until its time to address and mail the invitations.
  • I agree with Lisa. Also, why is coordinator calling 4 months before the wedding to go over final details? SOOOO much can change in 4 months. Heck, I was scheduled to get married in April, and 3 months before, we won a wedding and had to change location, date, and every vendor we had. lol
  • FI entered us into a contest thru a local radio station. Called "Bridal Idol". Out of over 2000 couples, we were one of five randomly drawn. Then our pics went on their website, along with a 3-4 minute on air interview. A few days later the voting started. Just like American Idol. The following morning, the couple with the least amount of votes, was eliminated. This went on till there was only 2 couples left. Then, we went to a Bridal Fair locally, called International Wedding Festival. On stage in front of about 300 people, we competed in a mock version of "The Newlywed Game" . We won. The prize was a wedding totalling approximately $20,000. Laughing

That sounds like a hoot!  Congrats.
  • lol Thanks. It's been a ride, that is for sure. Some vendors treat us like royalty, the others like dirt, since they aren't getting money from us, we are pushed aside for the real paying costumers. We would of been married April 17th, but vendors donated time for later in the year, on a Sunday. We won a lot of things I probably never would of done, but will do now, because they are free. It didn't include centerpieces, favors, chair covers, sashes, decorations, invites or STD's, honeymoon, food for any guests over 50, rehearsal dinner (which, because someone else is getting married there the night before, we have to do our rehearsal at 10:30 am, not happy about that, but what can I do) etc. So, even winning this, without the cost of a honeymoon, it's costing us close to $10,000.
We are only 25 days away and I am SOOO anxious for this to be done, lol
  • I am in the same boat ladies.  Can we just get this sh*t over with?  I am sick of wedding stuff, and (DONT TELL MY FH), at this point I am ready to say the heck with it, lets just go and it over with JOP style.  Not really, but I am done with this.

Makes me really glad we are not going on our HM right away too.
