Makeup Foundation

What kind of makeup foundation do you use?  I know!! Totally random question!!!  A friend of mine (who has done makeup professionally in the past) is going to do my makeup for our rehearsal dinner and AM ceremony (PM is Dana Bartone).  I use Bare Escentuals normally, but I've been told by several makeup artists that that's just not enough coverage for pictures.  I have combination skin and I HATE the feel of foundation on my skin... plus, even if it's oil free it always makes my skin feel oily.  Got any recommendations?  The person at Sephora recommended Hourglass' Tinted Moisturizer.  I liked it, but when I looked on the website, it said it was recommended for normal to dry skin.... that's totally not me, so now I'm waffling on the purchase.

I was just in the market for a new foundation and I purchased the new L'Oreal True Match Roller Perfecting Roll on Makeup. I put it on and it was way to cakey and it was very noticable. So, I went back to the drawing board and purchased CG Aqua Smoothers Foundation. It is very light and I really like the coverage. I also have combination skin (normal, oily, AND dry), and it works well. It looks like this: http://di1.shopping.com/images1/pi/4c/c3/cb/41763334-149x149-0-0_Cover+Girl+Cover+Girl+Smoothers+All+Day+Hydrating+.jpg

Personally, I use Almay's foundation/concealer (because it matches my skin tone pretty well)... then I put on my eye makeup/mascara- whatever... then I put on bare escentuals over that. I also use MAC blotting powder when my face gets oily... It's actually fairly light. I just have issues with my eyes- and I'm constantly touching them. Bad me! GL, Carrie!

I use MAC Studio Fix, but I'm thinking about switching or at the least starting to use primer, I've always wondered why my makeup disappears so quickly and then yesterday at my trial the makeup artist was like, "You should start using primer". That was my "Doy" moment! Haha

I like Laura Mercier- I wore it for my brother's wedding. Personally I use Lancome and LOVE it. It covers but doesn't feel like I have any makeup on.

i'm also a HUGE mac studio fix fan!  i use the pressed powder foundation for everyday (it's just as quick as bare minerals, but i think it gives more coverage) and for my wedding i used the liquid foundation.  i usually keep the liquid one on hand for long days (like full day at work + some work event all night) when i don't have time to touch up my makeup.  i'm the same way, i HATE feeling like i have makeup on, and for me, those 2 work perfectly!!  (sometimes, rarely, i layer them, powder over liquid.  that's what i did for the wedding b/c it looked good in pics, but i think in person it looks a bit fake...)

Thanks everyone!  So, I think I have it down to either the MAC Studio Fix or Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation.  I've heard awesome things about both.  We'll see what I end up with!  Anyone used the Bobbi Brown one?

<div>Totally agree with Kate on the primer. Not only does it make your foundation last longer but creates a protective base for your skin. The one I use is Smashbox Photo Finish. The lady at Sephora told me a lot of professional makeup artists use it for runway. For foundation I like Chanel and Shiseido sometimes even Neutrogena (for day). </div>
