16 Year Old Self

If you could go back in time and tell your 16 year old self one thing what would it be??

I would tell myself to stop being such a beotch to your parents & siblings, they hate your boyfriend because he is a loser & stop eating so much Subway, you will regret it when you get sick off it and can no longer stand they smell :p

• Buy $100 worth of penny stock in those funny little companies named Microsoft and Apple.

• The high school problems and people don't matter one iota. College rocks but being an independent adult is the best ever.

This. I would also tell myself to stop being such a goody-goody. The reason you didn't keep any friends from high school is because you never ever ever went to their parties when their parents were out of town. They made memories while you made out with your dumb boyfriend.
• Don't date the loser ex-bf...Actually don't ever even speak to him.

• Live in the dorm when you go to college. I regret not having had that experience and envy people with a lot of "college friends" - going to a commuter school I just didn't connect with that many people.

omg. You are the first person I've ever encountered that shares this with me and so many people have called me strange because of it. I get absolutely nauseated when I smell their bread - I feel vindicated!

• Don't lose your virginity to that loser. He isn't worth a second of your time. Seriously.

Work harder in highschool. Just because you can get good grades without trying doesn't mean university will be the same. Unversity will bitch slap you.

When your friend decides to steal liquor from her parent's liquor cabinet but only takes a little bit our of each bottle so they won't notice it missing and then mixes it all together in one water bottle- DO NOT DRINK IT

(That was actually when I was 14 but whatever)
• Don't get a credit card until you turn 25. It doesn't matter if you do get a free t-shirt.
• Dear 16 year old self - You are young, go have some fun. You have your entire life to grow up and work, you also have your whole life to be married. Stop working so dang much and get out of that relationship that won't last. Go be SIXTEEN and enjoy it.
** I don't believe that old cliche that good things come to those who wait. I think good things come to those who want something so bad they can't sit still **
• I would tell myself to dump the a-hole and NOT cry over it. And that bringing alcohol to homecoming is not a good idea and will result in you being grounded for a month.
• I'd tell myself to have a little more fun. Being a goody-goody isn't worth not really having many friends and spending weekends alone. Also don't drag out a bad relationship when he isn't respectful. He's not the one, and he's not worth the time of day.

• Drop the loser & broaden your circle of friends. Those geeky science guys look pretty good at the reunions!

• Not to stress over my boyfriend who was screwing around with my "friends" and dumped him sooner. Get rid of the "friends" who constantly spoke behind each others backs and caused unnecessary drama.

Focused more on school.
• It's not a good use of your hardearned nursing home dollars to buy that much pot. :/ Don't beg for that boyfriend to come back to you. He sucked.

Proud to be an old married hag!! image
• Dear 16 Year Old self:

You aren't fat! When you are 25 and about to get married you are going to wish like heck you still looked the way you did in HS. You just grew into an adult body early and these HS boys don't know what to do with it. Someday, guys are going to go gaga over those boobs and your curves. Love yourself, you're worth it! Also, enjoy buying your bras at Victoria's Secret while you can. When you turn 18 you have to go on BC and it makes your boobs as big as cantelopes. You know where you buy cantelope sized bras? Old lady stores, and apparently old ladies don't want/need sexy bras. Lucky for you, your fiance won't care and will pretend to think your old lady bras are sexy. He's great, I promise.

• Dear 16 y/o self

I have never laughed so hard in my life. (not at you, just feels like you read my mind)
• Stop investing your emotions and stress into people that don't care about you and never will. You can't change them and you don't even like them, so why did you let them control you?

Also, maybe be nicer to your parents and your sister. The world doesn't revolve around you. Even if everything turned all right in the end, that doesn't mean you can be a b!tch to them.

Listen to all the bad/horrible stuff people say about you, and laugh... Don't let them get you down, their opinion means nothing.
So, maybe things don't always go as planned... Maybe that's okay. I may be alone for now, but my baby boy is on his way, and I wouldn't change a thing.
• Don't smoke! Wow I would give up a hell of a lot to go back and never take the first cig... Also, stop dating losers, you're worth more than that!

Don't smoke that first cigarette, and then put all the money you didn't spend on cigarettes for 22 years in the bank.

It's not that you have to sneak around to have fun because your parents are too strict. They're strict because you're sneaking around to have fun.
