Hikey

I quit trying to read or post in the other thread.

I LOVE moscato!  Do you like sweeter wine?  Moscato can taste more like juice than wine sometimes.  Sutter Home Moscato is super cheap but super delicious, it's like under $10 for the magnum.  And yes I've drank the magnum by myself on many occasions.

Yellow tail recently came out with a moscato too which is also really good.  Theirs has a slight bubble to it which I like, and it's also pretty cheap.

A lot of people like Barefoot Cellars moscato too, but I like the other 2 better.

H and I LOVE moscato too! It's our favorite wine! We have a bottle downstairs by Cupcake Vineyards that needs to be opened, but he wants me to wait for him so we can try it together.

I'm a moscato fan!  If you like that, check out late harvest wines.  They're super tasty and sweet!  A bit more syrupy than moscato, but I love them a lot.

I do love the Sutter Home Moscato.  Really great budget wine, though it's a bit more expensive around here than what you're saying - I think the magnum is like $15 or so?

Thanks beach! I'm going to be honest, I used to LOVE white wine before I got trashed off of it one night. I was disgusting that night. I blame it on all day drinking with my roommate! It was election day and we both had off. I woke up with a HUGE bruise on my hip from falling down the steps, I got sick twice, and woke up to TV in Spanish and a dried Maccroni noodle on my shorts. But anyway, I'm open to trying new things again. I'll try those this weekend!! I liked the Chardonnay last night. I had two glasses of that. I definitely can't do red though.

Cal: It's so much cheaper to buy them at the Exchange, do you have any around you?

Our favorite right now is by Gelisi Antonio(the red one), I think we got it for just under $10 at the NEX. As fas as white, we live Primo Amore(if you ever go to Olive Garden, ask them for a tasting!) You can buy this for about $10 too but the NEX didn't have it.

Yeah C it depends where you buy it.  If I buy the Sutter Home magnum at Safeway it's like $12 or so, but it's only like $5 per mini bottle at the NEX.

I really like Late Harvest Rieslings, specifically Hogue is my favorite.  I am also in a wine of the month club at a local wine shop here (well I was in it, I just cancelled since we're moving), and I get the sweet/dessert selections.  They are almost always delicious, but expensive and usually never at stores like the NEX.

Hike I'm not really a Chardonnay fan because it's usually too dry for me.  But that's great that you found one you liked!

I really hate that I'm not even remotely near any sort of Exchange.  It would make life easier.  Plus a commissary would save us hundreds.  Plain old boring chicken breast is usually $5.25/pound here.  Occasionally I can get it on sale for under $4/pound, and I usually buy a bunch.  I miss the days this summer in Parris Island where FI could buy chicken breast for $1.25/pound, and it was MUCH higher quality!

I like really oaky chardonnays.  Yummm!!!  With sharp cheese and pears.  Man oh man, I need to leave work and drink some wine!

Only 109 work days left until we leave.  Gah... staying focused is so damned hard.

Haa no don't I wish.  I got caught and ringing phone before I could edit my response.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />  But let me just go ahead and second that is really great wine.  Always on my Wine Wed menu.

All that means is that we can buy two bottles and we don't have to share!!!

    <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />

When I go chard, I go for the oak.  Pinot grigio is my crisp and clean white of choice, and savignon blanc is my light "summer's evening on a boat" type white.

Get your own bottle, woman!  Or maybe I'll just buy you one so I don't have to share.
