I've been wanting to AW pictures of my new home in MS, but I wanted to wait until at least a good chunk of the unpacking and decorating is done.  And, unfortunately, most of that can't happen until our new furniture gets here next week.

But I got impatient, so here's a little preview.

This is our little rental house as seen from the driveway.  It's old and small, but I like to call it "vintage".  It's perfect for us right now, and it's not an apartment, so what else could I want?


And this is one I took while I was driving through the neighborhood.  Ignore the ugly street and LOOK AT ALL THE TREES.  Holy cow!  This is not something I saw a lot of in my part of Houston.


So my mission for today was to find a good bakery.  I think I succeeded.  They had a lot of the same treats as my favorite bakery back home.


And, finally, my (er... our) king-sized mattress came in today!  Now I just need the furniture to go with it.

    Aw I love your new place!  It is so adorable!  Glad you found a bakery.  Those look yummy.  FOODD!!!
    Trees are good BTW.

    I have to say that your picture of pastries made me drool a little ... but the house is adorable and I'm so jealous that you have a yard and not an apartment!! Looking forward to more pictures! Also jealous of the bed!!

    Little dog loves the yard.  He runs huge figure-8s around the trees whenever I let him out to pee.

    I love tree lined streets like that. My old neighborhood had huge oak trees down every street and the tops met in the middle so it was like driving down a tree tunnel all the time. But I have to drive through there on the way too and from work. I just wish there were more big old trees in my new area. Looks super nice though!

    FYI, when you're gluten free, macaroni and cheese is just as awesome as cake.  But I still may go make brownies.

    Anyways, now that I'm almost done with my first bottle of wine and have eaten, cute house!!!  And puppy would make it twice as awesome.  I'm excited to see the inside..you know, once it's unpacked :)

    Oh Peek, I wish you lived near me! There is a bakery nearby, and the baker has a daughter with Celiac's. She opened the bakery specifically to make things for people who need specialized items. (GF, dairy free, egg free, etc.) I brought some GF cupcakes to work on my last day (my boss and her daughters have Celiac's) and no one even knew they were made differently!

    Cute! I love it.

    I can tell I am from Minnesota. The first thing I thought of when I saw that giant beautiful driveway is, "Well that's gonna suck to shovel in January."  But I don't think the snow comes much in MS. lol

    I'm in Ontario, Canada. I might be able to overnight them though!

    ETA: I looked up shipping from me to DC. It says 2-3 business days would be approx. $27.

    Your new house is so cute! I was going to ask what the puppy thought of the yard.  This is probably the highlight of his year. Has he ever lived in a place with a yard before?
