My fiance has been bugging me about what we should do as a unity ceremony and has requested I ask in a post. Our wedding is very far away but we are the kind of people who plan everything far in advance so to double check everything for mistakes. Neither of us want to use candles because our ceremony site is outdoors in front of our church which is a touch breezy on non-windy days. We also don't like the sand idea because I have a tendency to dump things that have even a slight clumping factor and humidity can always be a problem. My sister is doing hand-fasting but he also nixed that idea. We want something unique, but don't know where to start. Our style is clean lined, mondern and casual. Much of our inspiration comes from Japanese items like square lanterns, sumi-e paintings, paper parosols, and paper fans. Any ideas? We are stuck and we'd like to come up with ideas to present to our minister.
